Hi all, sorry if this is not the right forum to post this question. How can I resample those huge FRAPS' taken videos from CloD .trk files, to produce smaller files?. A 7 minutes track takes 5 GB of hard disk space after being captured by FRAPS.

When I have tried to compress it using VirtualDubMod, with XVid Codec, the program says "No statsfile found" and "Cannot start video compression".

I have tried AviDemux 2.6, and the programs starts compression but it hangs after some minutes. What software do you, film-makers, use to recompress?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Try Open Broadcast Software....

https://obsproject.com/

Its free.....I started using it 3 months ago...I used Fraps for 8 years

Now I can record 2 hours at a time.....With Fraps I had to hit the record key when I saw the enemy to record a 6 minute engagement....Now I record the moment I join the server...then edit or delete my file after...

The quality is slightly worse than Fraps...but the trade off is worth it...

Comparison.... OBS with Fraps after uploaded to Youtube

Hi, Lewis, Colander, thank you for your kind replies.

I have tried Open Broadcast and starting to play with the program, yes, it makes a good job, and simpler than FRAPS+VirtualDubMod. Although, if my first captured video was OK, in the second I have only got a black screen + sounds, and I did not change anything !. It is clear for me, I need to investigate more about how to manage this software. :)

Colander, thanks for the link, yes, that was the solution for my error message, as stated in that forum.

Definitively, I have to learn more about this.

Kind regards

This is the vid I followed for my settings....

The only issue I had was my mic volume recording which I had to trial and error before I got it right...
