I also had the pleasure of listening to some RAAF Bomber Command veterans at the Temora Airshow ealier this year - and they'd all trained at Temora on Tiger Moths before heading off to Europe :)

I didn't catch it on film, but they mentioned someone who failed the pilot's course because of his poor navigation skills. He ended up serving in Bomber Command, not as a pilot, but as... a navigator :)

Also, one of those veterans was caught by a Schrage fighter over Norway, and had a engine set alight. The flight engineer put the extinguisher on the right wing, but the wrong engine. They had to fly back to Hawkinge on two engines out of four.
