With over +90 downloads I thought I might improve this mission with the addition of some more aircraft and new skins.
The mission is a "busy one" too say the least so you will have to stay sharp!
The 18th August 1940.
On 18 August 1940 the Luftwaffe made an all-out effort to severely damage Fighter Command. The air battles that took place on this date were amongst the largest aerial engagements in history at that time. Both sides suffered very heavy losses.
For this reason, the air battles of the 18 August 1940 became known as "The Hardest Day."
On this Sunday nearly 500 Messerschmitt were sent out over the channel in front of the Luftwaffe bombers on a free hunt mission.
On the British side the commander of the II Group, Park had no other option others to despatch five of his squadrons.
