With the help of the French Resistance on land, the RAF is mounting a raid on a prison camp for British POWs and captured French Resistance fighters. The prison camp is located just south of the town of Guines beside the forest. Overnight, two RAF fighter-bombers managed to airdrop weapons, ammunition, and food rations for the freed prisoners just inside the tree line, to support the prison break. The Resistance is waiting for the RAF attack, and received the airdrops as planned.

German command has ordered their prison at Guines to be relocated further east inside of France. It's sending a convoy of troop trucks and a train to remove the POWs from this facility. Comanders have ordered air support and more ground reinforcements for the prison during this transfer to quell any thoughts of an uprising.

We allow squadron sign up but the lead must give a list of names. Be mindful of the plane types left available and give us alternate plane choice if a plane type is full. For example, if all 109s are spoken for will the squad accept 110s? Same for Red, If all Blenheims are spoke for will the squad accept Spits? Make sure the squad member has committed to being there.

Oh, hi Kennedy. Manual prop pitch is a good skill to learn, since there are a few Axis aircraft that have no APP. I never use APP, even when I'm on the rear gunner and flying the 110. The sound of the engine is a good way to tell if you're pushing the engine too hard.

Track file of my Prison Break experiences on the Red side flying a Hurricane Mk1 Rotol 100oct on a bomber escort and ground attack mission.

I went to France twice, shot at trucks and enemy aircraft and made it back in the end! Great fun!

Thanks to all who prepared the map and server and all pilots who participated!

Had a good time! Nice to be able to get that last target right in the nick of time.

My first flight out, we got all the way to the French coastline and I was killed by flak as we went feet dry.

Apologies to Eagle from 71st for the runway conflagration ahead of the second wave. Must not have had enough left rudder to keep from sliding to the right side of the strip (need more stick time in a Blenny). Fortunately, we were able to get back up and into the group in time to see the mission to a successful conclusion.

Thanks to everyone involved and to ATAG's organizers and hosts for holding the event.

Although we suffered massive losses, Blenheims managed to destroy all targets. Thanks to our escorts, and to the Luftwaffe, who put up one hell of a fight. The match came down to the last few minutes.:thumbsup:

I had an absolute blast, In my honest opinion I believe this was the best mission to date even thou I was shot down every time I loved it.

Flare asked the same thing. I have a shadowplay movie with sound of comms of the whole thing but it is 12.5 Gig. so no way to transfer it to anybody.

My pilot got hit by a BF110 gunner. The screen turned red and I continued flying not really knowing who to shoot at, there were just so many planes over that prison yard. On my way to the coast, the screen went black, player killed.
I respawned and joined up with the bombers for the final bomb run. After mission success, I made my way back to England. My Spitfire developed some kind of oil leak and my engine died. I literally made a belly landing in the ocean, a mile from the white cliffs.
By that time everyone on comms were congratulating each other on the victory.

I can't wait to see more recordings!

It was great adventure in this virtual world of air combat and real characters!
Congratulations and many thanks for organizers and attendants for their effort.

First few moments over target area my screen was also full of shutter (probably due to loading ground objects into memory), anyway I was trying like the others do my best.
Event gave me a lot of feedback for escort duties. Fighters of decoy engaged a lot of blues before the strike (also over target area) turning their attention and eyes off our incoming direction - creating surprise effect even in such a known target situation. What most important for me - hurricanes in close area of bombers were very important and effective part of escort in such a hop in fight. Same for Blennie gunners - they neutralized first dangerous contacts avoiding multiple losses caused by one or two bandits and allowing bomber pilots to concentrate on ground targets.
I am impressed by bomber pilots skills - calm, precision, cooperation and persistence in goal striving.

We have some ideas. However without a Battleship in CloD it would be wise to wait until TF5 as I believe that they are adding a bunch more cruisers/destroyers/battleships (?) Stay tuned for the next event though. Shouldn't be as long of a break as it was over the fall/winter.

So watched the track files you guys posted; Thank you for that! ; and it turns out that my Spitfire got hit by flack just as I left the shores of France. That is where the oil leak started and the subsequent engine failure a mile from the English coast.

I'm gonna try and make a .GIF of that.

At first i didn't get what Cybermat was taking about when he mentioned the ball of fire and went back and got these screenshots from the event file. We had a bounced bomb go off behind us as we were traveling out. I also had no idea how much damage YO's 109 put on us just before the final run. thanks for gunning 4 me Cyber. :salute:

Good to see what it looked like from the other side. Blue did an excellent job of swatting us out the sky. I have never seen so many AC over one area at low level in this sim. It was truly a unique spectacle.
