So playing on the beta AXIS vs ALLIES server I've run into the situation a couple times where, when I want to escort friendly bombers and I get the message *JU 88 requesting escort in 10 minutes at 3,5k over Calais* yet no matter how long I want I* never see this formation of bombers show up, similar as happened with enemy bombers when I try to intercept but I never find them at the location noted or anywhere around there. are there tips or tricks into finding the exact location? I know you can use TAB-7-1 but sometimes it doesn't work and just sends you into enemy territory for miles and miles, and this command doesn't plot you to friendlies. Thanks

Ok the calls your are referring to are from Channel Command map. The reason this happens is becaus of the following... and keep in mind, if you want realism then getting a message that a bomber group is there and it does not turn up is pretty real to WW2.

Ok so why do you get the call and no bombers... It is because of the AI CAP. the CAP is dynamic and changes up or down depending on the volume of Human players.

What happens? When the AI CAP is reached... ie there are 25 AI planes and the current CAP is 25... If a new Sub mission starts and the CAP is exceeded, then each plane that exceeds the cap is immediately removed. Thus you can get the message there are some AI bombers on their way, but they never turn up cause they never spawn.

The CAP was put in after all the missions were designed. Currently it iwll not let you call a mission if the AI cap is over but maybe i need a fix like this. It means blocking the message when you request a mission to spawn, or adjusting the spawn rules to say "If current AI count is >= AI CAP then... say "No Bombers available for Mission. Mission Cancelled (AI limit Reached). "

I may look at this after I have done some other stuff. But as is it adds some dynamic to the mission and varies the size of sandard spawn groups.

Saying all this. I have added in some triggers after spawn. So if at least 1 bomber has spawned then you get a repeat of the messaage about 20 seconds into their flight and their current location.

fewww. ia m tired after all this. i need a nap

Ahh, never knew that Wolf. Always wondered why planes never showed on occaisions.
As Wolf has said it is sometimes the case that the AI group may also be ahead or behind of the actual report and
that is probably the way it was in the real BoB with the radar as it was.
Would be real useful tho to find a fix for the CAP so we don't go on useless sorties to find groups that have not spawned.
