They are old skins and don't work so well in the present version of the game, so please keep that in mind. They will no doubt be too dark.

That's a very nice skin. I like the pre-war Lufthansa schemes on all aircraft types. They are very stylish.

Thanks for everything Major,not just with this one but everything else you've done.I had almost all your skins up & working & then about a year ago my main drive crashed completely & i lost nearly everything related to CloD,including all your skins.I've been slowly getting them all back but I could never seem to run across this one ,which was one of my favorite He-111 skins.:recon:

Many thanks for your quick efforts!However some Lufthansa ground crews are going to be up for a severe dressing down ( I wonder what the German is for that?) This lovely Schnellflugzueg is in the need of quite a bit of paint touch up as witnessed by the chipped paint esp around the engine cowlings,Is this really the lack of care & concern Lufthansa wants the World to see?

Yeah shame about the pre wear but im not going to be the one that posts a bug tracker called "111 pre ware ruins fantasy airliner skins" :-)

I played about a bit more to see if it was some layer id miss but it isnt. Whilst doing so i did find that the skin was only good for the P version due to the differences in the intake locations of the engines. As such ive redone both skins so that they can be used on either variant now.

You can try to reduce it:
Make a new layer on top of your skin layers. Select the areas that you know are too dark, such as rivets and panel lines (oil stains too, if you can calculate where they would be on the skin) ... then make a new layer with just those areas selected. Make that layer white and then reduce opacity. You should have a skin with lightened panel lines/rivets etc. This will to some extent cancel out the dark parts on the skin. I did this on a couple of skins and it works quite well.

You might actually be able to see exactly where the oil stains and dirt are on one of the (un-layered) templates that have previously been posted on the forum (I can't check now to see what these look like, I'm not at my home computer).

It might be possible (if you are technically gifted) to extract the panel/rivet layer, or even the wear layer, from the game, and use that to make the lightened layer I mentioned above.

All of this takes quite a bit of work though. Good luck if you want to try it.

Ive played about but only have a limited knowledge. Ive reversed and lightened a few of the grime and line layers on some other skins to give a washed out effect for my own entertainment but I think it may not help the 111 as its the bare metal chipping that shows the most around the engine (black). But hey, this isnt FSX :-)

Everyday a lean something new - today it was finding the the spot (literally) on the JU88 skin that provides the colour for the antenna!
