Achtung Männer!

Today, 12th July 2016, starting from 21:00 CEST onward the pilots of the Stab I./JG 51 Gruppe (http://stabi.jg51.forumfree.it/) will be available online on the ATAG TeamSpeak server in the Axis channel " In flight #1 " to train new pilots of the community that intends to learn to fly the German planes available in the game or that needs help about get started with the game and its features. ( note that also pilots with already some experience in flying German aircraft are more than welcome to join if they think it's the case ).
Please note that, trying to remain impartial in respect to the servers on which we are accustomed to play more, if this project will have positive feedback from the players of the community we will perform this training event being available one week on the ATAG TeamSpeak server and the following on the Storm of War Teamspeak server and so on ( giving hospitality to the new players joining the training session in our dedicated channel ).
The decision to start first on the ATAG TeamSpeak server comes only from the fact that, to decide on which Teamspeak server performing this event first, we have rolled the dice so the choice is completely random.

In particular, if you are interested in this, feel free to contact me anytime ( Tag-name used Stab I./JG 51 - Mölders both on Steam, the ATAG and the Storm of War forums and on TeamSpeak ).

The training missions will be played on a custom mission that we have created exactly for this purpose so you will have the chance to train yourself in a mission with no enemy aircraft flying around and in which you can take all the time that is needed, without hurry, to starting to learn to fly the various German aircraft available in the game.

If you are interested to participate to the training sessions post here your availability ( possibly indicating at what time do you expect to be online ) so it will be a lot more easy to meet and coordinate the training missions or feel free to contact me via Steam message ( My Steam tag-name is the same as here : Stab I./JG 51 - Mölders ).

Thanks all in advance!

Our best regards to all the pilots of the online community,

Maj Robert Mölders,
Gruppenkommandeur,
on behalf of Stab I./JG 51 Gruppe

Great initiative, Guys.:salute:

This is why we have such an awesome community.

I would highly recommend for new players to take full advantage of this. The chance to learn from a top notch squad.

I have to add to this. I am pretty much new to this type of flying. I have many hours on fsx and others plus some real world flying.

The commander of this group herr molders is top notch. Not only in skill of flying and knowledge of the aircraft. But also for new players in depth knowledge of the keys needed to fly and learn effectively and quickly.

I have been with the unit about a week.

Speaking from real world flying. He also has great patients too with a great temperament to be an instructor.

If this type year and genre is your thing. You can't pick a better place with stab JG/51.

Gents,

As D-Rock says, this is a cracking and generous initiative and one indicative of the effort 1./JG51 puts into this world.

Many new players coming over to CLOD from BOS or WT, or even the old IL2, are taken aback by how difficult the Axis aircraft are to fly correctly in this game. Which is good for me, if im totally honest but often results in uneven server numbers at quieter times.

As such, i think i too need to learn some basics so i can hop over once in a while and enjoy some cannon porn :-)

At present flying a 109 or 110 is......fraught :-)

So i'll be seeing you all soon!!

A generous offer there to the community Herr Molders!
:salute:

While general flying, good airmanship and knowing how to fly your plane properly in and out of combat is paramount, one of the key things new pilots struggle with is basic navigation (knowing more or less where they are at any one time).

Its easier on the cross channel maps, but something like the south of France for instance can even become challenging for more salted pilots, everything looking pretty much the same on the ground.
If you know where you are, you can get help or vector pilots to a furball or bomber formation much more efficiently.

Sometimes folks tend to watch the gauges in the cockpit and spend less time consciously knowing their approximate position at any one time. We've all been there, and I still get lost :D
It does help though if pilots (old and new) have a handle on their approx grid of operation.

Just food for thought in your training regime.

Agreed 100% with you, Vlerkies!
This is one of the less considered parts of the game normally but that, in my opinion, it's absolutely crucial to be known by the pilot.
You can be an ace or the Lord of the known Skies but if you are not able to indicate with precision your actual position ( or the one of the incoming virtual enemies ) to your teammates you are like a cathedral in the desert...Wonderful but alone and of little effectiveness! ;)
