Hi,
I thought there would be a Sticky beginners guide to how to go about skinning for CoD ?
Things such as whether to work in 2048x2048 or twice as big and resample 50%, or even 4 times as big then resample 25%, is such practice easier or the resulting rivets not compatible ?
Should the work be in RGB using AdobeRGB1998 which is the established and accepted way to work on colour photographs, or should it be in CMYK and if so FoGra39 which is the Current European print standard.
How to create shadow/highlight panel lines and rivets (my approach is to offset 1 panel line thickness to right then down same amount) and the suggested light direction for such.
Any other guidance such as UVW layers.
Transparencies, I recall a special transparency file being needed for Rowan BoB.
What is the PanelFinder and how to use it.
Techniques for weathering and subtle colour variation to break up an otherwise too uniform and clean colour dump.
Should white be white or suggested mixes.
Skinning for the latest MoD 4.312 and will it be different for TFmod5 ? What is being done about the Frost and Gloss effects that give unrealistic finishes and how to skin for the new light engine or changes being made ?
Where is all this guidance to be found in one place ?
I have replied to Wolfs mission to create accurate Luft colours with colour references and best way comparison methods at:-
