NEW VERSION AVAILABLE..

I love flying over the British country side and because I do I have been fixing bugs and adding functions to the dynamic campaign script originally written by oden.
So now here is release 7. The readme contains information on what has been improved and it is a work in progress.

I will hold off on further development until TF V5.0 is released so I don't end up rewriting stuff if they make changes.

see the readme for some new features including being able to switch sides

You mention the Dynamic Campaign by Oden, I'm not sure if this was before or after the DCG TF released by Enlightened Florist in v4.312?

Certainly we would love to see the DCG In v4.312 utilised so hopefully this is the same as the Oden version and may be of interest to you to consider looking into?

Anyway, thanks for this, I am mainly a Single Player guy so this is much appreciated.

I think it must be. It has some code for an operation sealion invasion that I have not had a chance to look into yet.
There a great possibilities here. I envisaged it becoming something like the rowans BOB II campaign with forms as input to the database that way players can determine what to attack on the german side and where to place squadrons to best defend Britain for the RAF side.

New Version Available in first post

Changed the way Raids are done. Made them bigger with dedicated escort
Fixed a bug with Dates that causes a crash of the script but not the Game engine itself
Done a bit of set dressing

Hi Migman,

thanks for producing this. I haven't fired up CloD in a while but I gave this a go last night. A question: in the read me it says, "Do not forget to check for the line ScripAppDomain in your conf.ini file Some installs require it to be set to 1". I can't find this line in my MOD conf. Do I have to add it?

it goes in the [rts] section of conf.ini ...mines the first entry in that section

Hey, I placed the files in the il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover - MOD folder as the readme says, but I can't find where to start the campaign.

Do they need to be in a certain folder? If so, you might want to update the readme.

Indeed they do... maybe I was not clear enough need to go in the /missions/single folder with all other single missions

Thanks for the work. I think SP is great so every new campaign is greatly wellcome..
But...flying this campaign, in the first mission no enemy apears... and the worst thing is that i canĀ“t advance to another day..
Am i missing something? :(

Must. Do. This. I flew in circles for three hours because I didn't realize the issue. :( Just add this little tidbit into your conf.ini and it'll work like a charm. If you are new to editing the .ini's and such I can run you through it if needs be.

Try making script app domain a zero. I never had the entry at all and made mine "scriptAppDomain=0". It worked immediately after that. Of course, remember to save the edit to the .ini and then re-run the game. Also, as always, make sure to run the game as administrator. Tell me how it goes.

Thanks for all the work you've put into refining this. Is it possible for someone to edit the ammo belt loadout in the FMB with this mission? If so, which entity should I be looking for and editing? It is much easier to knock planes out of the sky with a loadout other than default :)

I believe most pilots flying Spit or Hurri prefer a mix of armour piercing and incendiaries, with nothing else mixed into it. Exept maybe tracers as every 10th or 12th round in the outer guns only.

Everyone has their own preference but I find for me a mixture of a few ap/few dewilde + a tracer so often in the outer guns to help me visualize convergence works the best for me. Certainly better than using only ball and tracer ammo.

Also, if you're to change the loadouts, (most RAF pilots use AP+DeWilde and then tracers every 5th-10th round in the outer guns) also change the convergence to something much closer, 400 yards (default) is awfully far away, most RAF pilots use somewhere around 200 yards. (183 metres in the ingame settings.)

Hey guys,
Can anyone give me some pointers on how to get this campaign working. I'm perpetually stuck on the first mission where my squadron endlessly loops around the second waypoint. I've made the update to the conf file as directed with the entry under rts saying scriptAppDomain = 0. Still no luck.

I really would like to fly this set of missions, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just starting to test this and I must say it seems phenomenal!

However- is it possible to turn down the volume of airplanes in general. It is taxing my system pretty hard, which is taking its toll on immersion. I run a GTX 970, 16GB RAM and an i5.

Things that need change in mission/script - after Blitz:

- Remove the "- MOD" of Document's\1C... folder path in the script.

- Rename Sounthend for Southend (Blitz change) in the mission INI file.

- Rename HMS.Flowers.Corvette for Flower.Class.Corvette (Blitz change) in mission file.

- Change the range of hours for the mission happen, 6:00AM is too dark to find anything or even landing.

Issue: After few mission days (~15 hours of flight logged) the map change for Autumn - what seems inappropriate for BoB.

I suggest remove that big yellow message "SCRAMBLE... " (and other similar) at mission start, this message are showed in air start too :S: - and remains over screen for too long. Will be better without this messages, already are a "chit-chat" over the radio.

If possible lower gunners skill, after Blitz changes a Stuka gunner easily dispatch your Spitfire at 500 meters. :doh:

The only real flaw of this mission is that the basic scenery don't change, always are the same static ships in the same place in middle of Channel.

theOden is working on a new version as well, with MP functionality which I was reading about on SimHQ, looks interesting so between the two of you we should see some good things happening for this mission (which I really enjoy btw).

MigMan, I haven't looked at your edit in game yet, only in Notepad++. I was interested in your system for determining max-min gunner skill via "morale". Is this limited to exclude the presence of Terminator gunners?

(please say yes)

Also, I hope you don't mind me offering a couple of suggestions:

1) Is it possible to cap the total number of raids in the config and allow the player to adjust the RAF/Luftwaffe ratio? (So I can tweak things to have a handful of squadrons intercepting a big Luftwaffe raid or two instead of having umpteen Ansons, Blenheims and other oddball RAF bombing type planes skylarking about where they don't belong and consuming my precious system resources!)

2) Could versions of this mission representing different phases of the battle be released (Dunkirk, Post Dunkirk, BoB climax, Post BoB/Blitz/1941) or the breadth of it extended to cover the changing battlefield???

I think you mean HMS_Flowers_Corvette with Underscore rather than full stop.

When you say "Blitz Change" do you mean that the line needs to be different for Blitz than for old CloD?

Where is the range of hours specified, please?

You are wright, in mission file (.mis) is used "_".

This name was changed in BLITZ (don't know why, after all this ship is "frakenship"), hence the need to edit, or result in error on script.

Same with "Sounthend" changed for "Southend", this in INI file.

@ MigMan,

As I suggest remove the "SCRAMBLE..." message, maybe is good idea put a message informing when the script fail, as happen with some people, only their flight are loaded due script error.

I and others notice too that sometimes in first mission the planes are duplicated, e.g. are two Spit R6708.

Suggestion, is possible set script for generated flights more high?

Most of flights I encounter are flying bellow 1000 feet's, making "BoB" looks like a online furbal and a festival of AI crashing on ground during maneuvers. :D

Eventually starting the mission again (from 0) and the script goes "kaput" relating a "stack overflow" that seems due a big decimal in mission start time, e.g. 17.17 result in 17.245678899... if possible limite start time to use only 10th in minutes to avoid this.

From change mission time frame, look this section of script:

Default rnd.Next(6, 19) - I change for 8, 18 because 19 means 19:59, not convenient with the game light.

I limit season for Summer only - besides don't like of CloD Autumn/Winter maps, don't make sense that just after some flights the map change, specially because the mission style of script will not change for reflect post "BoB"(>October, 31) changes in Luftwaffe attack pattern:

Nope.

It seems that like most CloD projects author gave up (due bugs...). :D
And the link in SimHQ for last version released (for a possible COOP) was now broken.
