Operation Steamworks V1 (Blue Briefing)
Luftwaffe Situation:
An agent of the Sicherheitsdienst des Reichsführers-SS landed at Dover last week after sneaking aboard a British fishing vessel. Our agent has been able to tail the movements of several high ranking RAF commanders and relay their locations to Luftwaffe HQ. Several strikes have left us both empty handed and with less aircraft. Command has ordered a stop to these raids immediately.
Before breaking contact and boarding a train headed for the coast, our agent transmitted the location of Chief Air Marshal Hugh Dowding. Dowding and his staff have been spotted at a retreat house on the river near the Waltham castle ruins, apparently enjoying the company of women, warm beer, and fishing.
Other high ranking officials will be attending the opening of a newly constructed water treatment plant just down the river.
The American convoy which slipped through our U-boat net in the Atlantic is heading towards the Southend Docks to unload countless weapons, food, and aid. This week has seen a continuous effort from the American Navy to supply the British.
Luftwaffe Orders and Targets:
HARD TARGETS:
- Destroy the docks at Southend and the train shipping facility which is moving thousands of tons of aid daily out of the Southend area and into all of Britain.
- Shower downtown London with bombs until the city is ablaze.
- Destroy the Ashford water treatment plant before it can become fully operational.
- A small American shipping convoy is heading towards the docks at Southend, destroy these ships.
- Canterbury airfield will need to be taken out to ensure our success this morning.
SOFT TARGETS: (Fighters/Attack/Bombers)
Two fishing boats were seen leaving Dunkerque last night heading for Britain. We suspect they are stowing away OSS agents and French resistance fighters. Show them to their watery graves!
Attack and destroy all of Air Marshal Hugh Dowding's vehicles at the Waltham castle ruins retreat, preventing any escape from the area. Kill Dowding and his staff residing at the retreat house on the river bank.

Our Sicherheitsdienst des Reichsführers-SS agent has boarded the train leaving Folkestone station heading towards Ramsgate. He will notify us of his location once he exits the train. Be prepared for immediate Search and Rescue mission if our agent is able to exit the train and make contact.
The agent will mark the best angle of approach for landing with red panel markers and will require a non-fighter aircraft to board. Intel on location of pickup and the location of drop off will be transmitted to the entire Luftwaffe when known.

Operation Steamworks V1 (Red Briefing)
RAF Situation:
Early last month French resistance fighters outside the city of Hazebrouck confirmed to the Office of Strategic Services of heavy German activity at the Hazebrouck family chateaux. After weeks of surveillance, high profile talks between Luftwaffe high command and Waffen-SS field officers have been confirmed. Reconnaissance photos smuggled out of the area show a massive build up and fortification in and around the aging mansion.
The OSS was able to infiltrate the ranks of the SS guards and give the RAF a look at inside the camp. The confirmation of heavy fortification led us to believe that high profile talks were indeed underway.
Before we lost contact with our agent, he was able to take and smuggle out one last photo which has confirmed our suspicions. Heinrich Himmler, head of the Waffen-SS and Joseph Goebbels, Minister of Propaganda were seen arriving at the chateaux late yesterday afternoon.
After losing contact with our agent, we feared the worst for his fate and gave the order for an assault on the chateaux. We believe that both Himmler and Goebbels left this morning as the attack started, heading for a grass airstrip outside of Cassel. French resistance reported a speeding Horch Type 930 V8 heading North out of Hazebrouck and OSS commandos outside of Steenvoorde confirmed local emergency vehicles were seen heading to a small fire caused by a vehicle accident in the same area. Radio transmissions from the accident scene indicate that one body was found in a burned out car but the second car was empty and the doors open.

HARD TARGETS:
The French resistance fighters have been pinned down by heavy weapons within the Haxebrouck chateaux. Destroy the entire compound, watch for friendly ground forces outside the chateaux holed up within the neighboring town.
The French fuel depot at St. Omer has been under German control for far too long. Render the facility useless.
The Caffiers runway must be cratered to slow German air sorties.

SOFT TARGETS: (Fighters/Attack/Bombers)
A German convoy was spotted leaving Tournehem-sur-la-Hem heading towards Ardres. Fuel trucks and helium stores should be easy targets. Convoy was last seen passing over a bridge and stopping at a local town east of Ardres.
Himmler and Goebbels have been spotted north west of the car crash hiding near a French farmer's windmill. Watch for French civilians plowing nearby fields.

The Office of Strategic Services has notified the RAF HQ that their agent who infiltrated the Hazebrouck chateaux has escaped on a French passenger train leaving Hazebrouck, heading towards Dunkerque. Be prepared for immediate launch of Search and Rescue operations if we are contacted by the OSS with a location for pickup.
The agent will mark the best angle of approach for landing with red panel markers and will require a non-fighter aircraft to board. Intel on location of pickup and the location of drop off will be transmitted to the entire RAF when known.
