Hi flyby....We have a very mature, friendly and helpful community here buddy...Check the 'ATAG Forum Age Poll' below to see the age groups of folks here...We are here to help in any way you need from PC setup to ingame setups so just make a post or join us on TeamSpeak to have all your queries answered...You will undoubtedly find folks on TS who have the same interests as you...

ATAG Forum Age Poll Results (http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7744&highlight=poll)

Most of us believe that the online servers are where the real fun is to be had and the online server at ATAG is dedicated for everyones needs...young and not so young, experienced fliers to new players/pilots, serious fliers and casual fliers...The server is mission based so there are objectives for bombers and fighters too...You can use the server for anything as we have only 2 rules in there...1) No teamkilling on purpose (and we we make allowances for new players as we know that new players do tend to do this accidently as we all did..lol)...and 2) No abusive language...That's it...So you can take flying in the server as seriously as you like or not at all...Its entirely upto you...so don't be afraid and step in there...

We offer a free TeamSpeak server with different channels too and you don't even have to talk should you not want to...Just listen if you like...

Checkout the 'Beginners Guide'...for info and tips...It will save you a heap of time in getting up to scratch.....and its a really fun learning curve too...

Windows Management Guide (http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3273)

Also try youtube for startup procedures on all the aircraft...

I recommend getting in the online server as soon as you can take off if that's ultimately where you'd like to fly...I flew single player for 30 minutes before I took the plunge...The ATAG online server is a great environment to learn and there's not really any damage you can do in there as a new player.....It is also mission based just with real players trying to foil your objectives...If you are concerned then pick an airstrip furthest from the front line (there always is one or two on every map) and get some alt before you go hunting...You'll get tagged a lot but there are tricks you learn out of pure desperation in those first few weeks that you'll be able to use later...I know cos I still use the same tricks I learned then too because they work...and never underestimate the stall to get you out of a tight fix...That sometimes works too...

TeamSpeak is optional but you'll learn a whole lot faster with it even if you say very little once you are on the server...You are quite welcome to just listen if you feel more comfortable with that....so you don't actually need a mic either...Try it and see!

My goodness, we could do with more people like you in the world!

Every day at work I get moaned at by people young enough to be your children or grandchildren about how they don't see the point of learning how to use computers "at their age".

Hats off to you and welcome to the forum! :salute:

It's about bloody time you got here, what took you so long :) , just kidding :D

You will find all the help you need right here so just ask away as and when required.

Another interesting post, albeit nothing to do with flying but community orientated, shows the really diverse group of passionate people that fly this sim.
