Hi gents,

i red a lot about the problem to see contacts at a resolution from 1920x1080. So i got a little bit worried about my new rig and the 24" monitor with 1920x1080 resolution. I come from an 1280x1024 resolution:geek:, and my squadmebers (all 1920x1080) telling me all the time, that i can see contacts that are farer awy and that they lost them earlyer over the ground, earlyer than me. But now with the new resolution 1920x1080, for me its in some points better than before, some examples:

1. I can see dots on the ground rolling to take off, from 5500 meters. (same as old resolution), but now i can follow them, when they flying over trees and citys and i am still at 5500 meters. (better now, old resolution i lost them)

2. I can see dots from farer away, at same alt, lower alt or higher than me.
(example: i am over hawking and can see dots very close to france, as very smal dark black dots) (better than old resolution)

3. In dogfights over ground (trees / citys) the dots / planes dont merge with the background, the are still clear visible, so i dont lose them. ( better than old resolution, there i lost them, because they merge with the backround.)

4. I can ID the planes mutch easyer and farer away then before

Here are my settings i found in the forums and testing on my own, where they are different from my old rig and resolution , i write it behind. So maby it helps some of you, to get a better dots / plane visibility:

CoD:
resolution: 1920x1080 (old: 1280x1024)
buildingsdetail: very hight (old: low)
landdetail: high
treedetail: very high (old: low)
visuelle effects: high
texturequality: original
SSAO: on (old: out)
VS: on
damagedetail: high
buildings: unlimited (old: very low)
landshadows: high
gras: on
shadows: on (old: out)
streats: on

in the config i change this:
VisibilityDistance=5 (old: 3)
Forest=4 (old 3)
MeshShowLod=1

nvidea 3D settings:
antisotrope filter: 16x
antialiasing-FXAA: on (old: out)
antialiasing settings: 32xCSAA (old: 16xQCSAA)
antialiasing gamma correktion: off
antialiasing modus: any application settings override
antialiasing transparence: 8x (supersample) (old: multisample)
3 time buffer: on
energie modus: maximum power
texturefilter anisotrope optimise: out
texturfilter- negative lod-bias: clamp
texturefilter-quality: high quality ( old: quality)
VS: on

color an monitor settings, i think has to be done by everybody on his own, but here are my settings, maby this helps too:

nvidea color settings:
nvidea settings to use: on
brightness: 65%
contrast: 65%
gamma: 0.60
digital colorsettings: 95%
color: 0 degrees

my monitor is set to factory setting exept this points:
in the menu i set it to gaming mode and the sharpnes i set from 5 to 7 out of a scall from10.

with this settings i get nice colors, better visibillity and stady 60 fps.

So i hope this are not old information, or all known informations.
If yes, sorry for the long not nessesary post.

Excellent info 'D'.
I'd got my set up working fine, but changed a few things after the latest patch and now seem to be missing contacts again. Thanks for the work and the info.

Turn off all AA both in game and whatever your video card offers for AA.
Set to 1920X1080.
Turn off SSAO to and do not use any kind of 3rd party AA.
All that AA is seeing your tiny contact and assuming its a pixel and washes it out. It doesn't know you'd be interested in seeing it.

Try that.

Hi Doc,

for me it is easyer to spot dots/contacts with this settings , than with AA off. Even with my old rig and solution 1280x1024 it was easyer with AA on.
its funny how different the settings are between the different pc and users.

Dutch try it out, what works better for you :)
