I love skinning - but I'm no artist and have now some limited mobility in the wrist (DONT Highseas - just DONT!)

So, whilst its always good to learn techniques there are some (like weathering) where the movement of the tool (second warning HS) is either difficult for me or very painful. It stopped me for a while until I thought about it and started to use stuff like paths and gradients.

Even then though my limited artistic skills left "meh" results.

So - I borrow a lot now - DCS, BOS, WT in fact any template with weathering layers is worth a look to see what you can take, edit and incorporate. An oil stain there, a few scratches here or some fading somewhere else. The whole plate is never likely to be interchangeable but that's why we have transformation tools :-)

Its also good if you don't have a artists set up and rely on just the mouse and keyboard.

Just remember to credit its use and keep practicing your own techniques if you can.
