Just felt compelled to tell TF how much I'm enjoying their improved CLOD.
Been using it for months now - never once had it crash on me. The action is fluid, the sounds are incredible and in my opinion, the detail and lighting of the models cannot be beaten.
It's just a joy to fly this thing - I often spend an hour or 2 on a cross country navigation exercise - the map detail and immersion means it never gets boring.
I'm not saying it's perfect - the AI could use a bit of work and the broken spline roads have been frustrating but I'm so glad TF are giving CLOD a chance to reach it's full potential.
So thanks guys, your hard work and dedication is very much appreciated and I look forward to supporting your future releases.

Also try youtube for startup procedures on all the aircraft...

I recommend getting in the online server as soon as you can take off if that's ultimately where you'd like to fly...I flew single player for 30 minutes before I took the plunge...The ATAG online server is a great environment to learn and there's not really any damage you can do in there as a new player.....It is also mission based just with real players trying to foil your objectives...If you are concerned then pick an airstrip furthest from the front line (there always is one or two on every map) and get some alt before you go hunting...You'll get tagged a lot but there are tricks you learn out of pure desperation in those first few weeks that you'll be able to use later...I know cos I still use the same tricks I learned then too because they work...and never underestimate the stall to get you out of a tight fix...That sometimes works too...

TeamSpeak is optional but you'll learn a whole lot faster with it even if you say very little once you are on the server...You are quite welcome to just listen if you feel more comfortable with that....so you don't actually need a mic either...Try it and see!

Hi Archer....I've just got back today from a spot of travelling and your brilliant first post reminded of what I have been missing. Except it din't remind at all....I seriously missed the flying everyday I was away.......... but if the wife needs a holiday far be it from me to say no, especially as I want to buy that bigger monitor for Christmas! Ha ha!

Your post was brilliant because it put into eloquent words what the rest of us truly feel, too. CLoD IS amazing and we are very pleased to have another fellow pilot join us and spread the word. Have you tried multiplayer yet? If not I urge you to give it a try. It took me a year of single player to work up the courage to go multi but since then I haven't looked back. Give us a shout on Team Speak and you will have a whole new bunch of friends to wing up with. Looking forward to seeing you in the virtual skies.....good luck! Salute! :thumbsup:

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I did try out an online session once or twice but decided to build up some decent skills before jumping back in.
Must get Team Speak set up. Hoping there are others out there who would be happy to practice formation flying and tactical manoeuvres etc. Instant action has never really been my thing.

Instant action doesn't usually happen on the ATAG server... for the new guys, more a case of flying around without seeing anything... unless you venture over to the hostile side of the pond.

That is why it is a good idea to join up with some of the more experienced flyers... they can be your eyes until you get the knack of spotting down. ;)

What Buzz said. The community in Cliffs at large is really welcoming and helpful. You could join a squadron for example and make a lot of friends. There are campaigns you can join and ATAG puts on really fun community nights. There are many fun options for you to explore.

Join the ATAG TS or the TS of the server you are on and start meeting people. Everyone want's you to succeed. It's in our best interest of course to lend a hand and make the experience for you positive and a real thrill. This way you come back and we can shoot at you or fly with you making it more fun for all.

One warning though, everyone gets their butt kicked when they first go online. It takes experience and you only get it online against human pilots.

What we have, thanks to Team Fusion's brilliant work with the sim itself and ATAG's dedication to providing a quality server to fly it on together with an outstanding community built around the sim and the server is without question the best WWII aviation simming environment I've ever experienced. Period.
