Pujol had the distinction of receiving military decorations from both sides during World War II, gaining both an Iron Cross from Germany and an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) from Britain.

The British Mi5 were head and shoulders above the German Abwehr in their efficiency.

They were also hugely helped by the contributions of foreign nationals whose countries had been invaded and plundered by the Nazis. Mi5 realized they had a gold mine in these people... many of whom were willing to die to help defeat Hitler.

"Garbo" was a special case, an amazing contribution by an individual who decided he would change the course of the war... and he did.

Deserves a movie. ;)
