bb5000 has just uploaded TEF Dynamic Campaign Beaufighter mod (https://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/Downloads.php?do=download&downloadid=159)!

Modification of the TF Dynamic Campaign by TheEnlightenedFlorist to enable the Beaufighter to fly ground attack missions. A new campaign + updated DLLs to accept the UK ground attack missions. WIP.

Did a test and work well, but as Readme alert "The AI is stupid as ever." :D

I leave AI take off for avoid that wingman's takeoff and then land.

OK, take control and wingman's follow me, but in target area they just circle above at cruise altitude ignoring mission objective. For they luck FLAK gunners don't have that "laser aim computer" of planes gunners. :D

I did some strafe, damage one propeller and RTB in one engine, now AI join me at low altitude and keep formation, minus one that disappear after a while.

Strangely Litllestone controller (Home base) don't "capture" our returing flight and don't give instructions for land, so I fool AI with formation trick and land, but tires blow at end of runway leaving me stuck there.

Then I start watch AI, the remaining two return to target area - doing aerobatics in the way.

In the target area missing wingman are doing dogfight with Bf 109's ending shoot down, so the two "acrobats" change mind and return to home again.

The first to arrive misjudge their altitude, overrun the run way - taking my rudder in the process and crash in the sea.

The second landing OK and after almost colide with some parked Anson's during taxi "warp" for given point and stop engines.

Obvious this behavior is not issue of your campaign or Elightened Florist DCG, but typical CloD "peculiarities". :grrr:

I guess this issues is due the DCG mission template(s) has no waypoint's with task for AI unless "go to target area and back".

yep, I think there’s room for some improvements:

The absence of a ”regroup” command for the flight will usually end with the flight turning back home directly after reaching the patrol area, so maybe additional waypoints needs to be defined to keep the patrol in the area until the enemy turns up.

Ground attack targets could be divided into sub-groups, such as shipping, airfields, industry etc.. with different attack approach patterns/altitudes

More options in the mission menu to control the AI

etc , etc...

A thing that I observe, some mission task say "Escort Wellingtons", but the planes that arrive for "rendevouz" over airfield are Beaufighters.

Alias most of other RAF flights patrolling around are Beaufighters too.

The only plane I exclude from DCG plane list are Gladiator - I don't see purpose for then in the Channel.

I guess that a Wellington squadron needs to be added to the "redAircraft.SECTION" file to be able to generate a bomber flight with that aircraft. For example:

[BoB_RAF_B_61Sqn]
Flight0 1
Class Aircraft.BlenheimMkI
Formation LINEABREAST
CallSign 30
Fuel 65
Weapons 1 1 2 1 1
SetOnPark 1
Skill 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3
Airbase 248217 258953

change to:

[BoB_RAF_B_61Sqn]
Flight0 1
Class Aircraft.WellingtonMkIc
Formation LINEABREAST
CallSign 30
Fuel 65
Weapons 1 1 2 1 1
SetOnPark 1
Skill 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3 0.3
Airbase 248217 258953

plus, add the Wellington to the same squadron in "playerAircraft.section" (not sure if that's needed, but the "Type Bomber" attribute might be needed..
EDIT: no, should only be needed if flyable.

I'll do some updates and testing , time permitting..

The mission type selection logic is in the text file "missionTypes.section" , located in:

<Steamlibrary path>\IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover Blitz\parts\TEFCampaign\campaign\Beaufighter\Files

These are the "UK" settings in the included campaign...

[UKFighter]
FreeHunt 10
BomberEscort 1
BomberIntercept 5
[UKBomber]
LevelBomb 10
[UKJabo]
Jabo 10
BomberIntercept 3
BomberEscort 2
JaboEscort 2

Tweak this to your preference...here's an example which should give you more variation in missions and escort flights on "Jabo" missions

[UKFighter]
FreeHunt 10
BomberEscort 1
BomberIntercept 5
JaboEscort 3
[UKBomber]
LevelBomb 10
[UKJabo]
Jabo 10
BomberIntercept 6
BomberEscort 2
JaboEscort 1

I've been trying to get the Beaufighter campaign to working in Blitz all day and a bit of yesterday as well. I have the TEFCampaign downloaded, and it works. I've installed the TEFCampaignModded. It is installed as follows: parts/bob/mission/campaign/TEFCampaign/TEFCampaignModded. A folder entitled Beaufighter is in *TEFCampaignModded/campaign. I've updated the dlls and campaign.ini in both *TEFCampaignModded and *TEFCampaign.

Opening the Enlightened Flowers campaign, I'm given the choices of both East and West. Nothing appears in reference Beaufighter. On activating East the same Squadron choices appear as in the West choice. Squadrons 29 and 219 don't appear when opting for a new campaign.

Sorry for the long lament, but I'm not getting something.
Any help appreciated.

I don't have this installed, but should this:

parts/bob/mission/campaign/TEFCampaign/TEFCampaignModded

be this?

parts/bob/mission/campaign/TEFCampaignModded.

I have the TEFCampaign (modded) here, I don´t think it will work having the TEFCampaign in the path you've installed to.

ATAG_Oskar and bb5000,
Thank you for your quick responses. I tried your solutions with no success. Everything looked as though they were in the right place, but I couldn't get beyond the original TEF squadrons. I experimented all day today without success, finally crashed Blitz and had to reinstall it through Steam. Maybe, I'll just be satisfied for awhile. It's a shame too. I was particularly interested in the Beaufighter campaign.
So, thanks again.

Solved!
It required me to re-download Blitz. I tried again. I followed your suggestions AND the directions, and now it works like a charm.
