View Full Version : Teamspeak Volume Control

Hi Gents,

This thread describes that installation & usage of the TS3 volume control, which reduces game volume whilst yourself or others are speaking, its an excellent add-on for TS and they update it within a few days of every TS update usually

Please note your TS & TS3 volume control versions must match, otherwise it won't work.

The latest version can be found here... (http://addons.teamspeak.com/directory/plugins/miscellaneous/Volume-Control-(Windows-only).html)

The link for other versions is here... (http://forum.teamspeak.com/showthread.php/75608-quot-Volume-Plugin-quot-collection)

Once the file is downloaded, close down all applications especially Teamspeak if running, and double-click the file you downloaded and it will take you through the installation steps.

When its finished the process, start TS, and you should see a dialog box like this

The options are pretty straight forward so I won't go through them, I leave them all at default anyway. Just click "OK", and installation is finished.

Now all it need's is a little configuration each time before you fly.

Start TS & Clod, and join an empty TS channel, minimize the game, once loaded and open your windows volume control as shown below on Windows 7:

Then reduce the IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover volume slider to about 40% or 50%, This reduces the game volume so it doesn't blow your ears out, without reducing the ingame volume which can cause problems with sound effects if not left set at full. I've found 40% works well, but its a personal preference, & now you can close the windows volume control & join your usual TS channel.

What happens now is that everytime you, or someone else speaks it will reduce the game volume, you can see it working above as someone was speaking when I took the screenshot of the windows volume control so the slider dropped to about 15%. If no-one speaks for a few seconds the volume will resume to the normal level.

In-case you wondered, its easier to configure the volume in an empty channel because the slider moves when someone talks and its near impossible to set it correctly.

Hope this help, if you have any questions or comments feel free to ask.
