The purpose Our server is to simulate a Tactical environment where all phases of air power are utilised.

The main objective for either side is to roll the map (where an advancing front line is moved in one of two possible directions)

Bomber targets are found under the tab 4/4 mission menu each side has at least 5 different objectives

main objectives can roll the map but only if all are destroyed in one cycle of the map (6 hours)

and must be accompanied by a certain number of Kills over ground vehicles and air targets all important to the war effort.

Losing bombers and fighters has a negative effect on the overall team score leading to victory

Simply put lose bombers and fighters and your overall points go down and the other guys go up.

Bombing civilian areas has this same negative effect.

Road Convoys:

All bases are supplied via the road and rail system in the Tactical Server every hour a base somewhere on the map is getting supplied via

the road or rail system destroy these supplies which you will be alerted to it's possible location in the briefing this adds points to the

other side if the convoy makes it and denies points if it is destroyed by 75% or more.

Shipping:

All shipping is a target just make sure the ship you attack is enemy and points toward victory are added to your side.

Fighters play a critical role in actual combat, protecting vital areas from attack, such as airbases and supplies, as well as bomber escort and

ground suppression but unless the major objectives are destroyed no territory can be gained and a stalemate exists.

So bring your friends try and roll the map the AI will give you all you can handle let alone any actual players lurking in the skies.

Thanks for the update on the TWC Tactical Server.

Hopefully some of the Rag Tags will get to give it a try in the near future.

Tell me, how are airkills recorded?? If I damage a plane and he lands safely 10mins later, the game will reward me with a kill although it really was not. How is your server counting kills?

he has to go down Kling points are awarded for partials but kills on the server are kills

it is up right now and needs testing from the german point of view and all the british stuff works so if pilots want a challenge then by all means see if you can survive 50 missions.

Btw do you have any means of checking when it is a proper kill? Not sure how the code works.

If I make it back to base completely shot up and the plane is damaged beyond repair due to action or because I crashland and break the plane. I still get a safe landing but what does guy get that shot me up? A kill or nothing? I know Clod logic works in mysterious ways.. ;)

Long time ago when "Repka" dog-fight server was up, there was a very nice feature concerning kills. When one guy landed damaged plane on a friendly airfield, the kill was not calculated for other guy who shot at first one. The code was given to ATAG or TF, but I think it was lost.

Vitaly I have old files from Repka, including the Sea Lion Campaign files and
files Battle for the Village from Podvoxx.

I vouch for it. Nice mix of targets, formations, columns with randomization....all the good stuff. Definitely needs some love from the community and would work perfect for large bombing raids using fighters and flak-killing Beaufighters.

Nice video Zeb thanks for posting.

Have yet to try out the TWC Tactical server as I understand from Fatal_Error it is better with a number of pilots.

Still you two did well against those JU88s. Love those four cannons on the Beaufighter. :thumbsup:

I really enjoy the TWC Tactical Server, and highly recommend it. Great variety of targets for bombers, and very challenging going against the ferocious flak and varying skill AI intercepts. I expect it will be more fun for fighter boys as more people fly on the server. I get a particular kick out of hunting down and smashing armored convoys from the vague briefings - feels much more like the way light bombers were properly used. The radar and stat tracking are great features too. Just a warning, the server loads quite slowly the first time you come in, but it's well worth the wait.

You know what would be awesome? Is if TWC ran some of their missions on the ATAG server! Just thinking out loud though. Wouldn't want to make a fatal error and flug anything up. Still tho.... food for thought perhaps?

We are looking forward to you hosting TF 5.0 and all the many North African campaigns which will be available with this release.

we flew yesterday. there was around 30 players on. with more players on server, you might want to try with less AI's, because all 5 of us experienced serious rubberbanding.

ok i am finally satisfied with the server for now

present Scenario:

England late summer 1940 each side must destroy 6 primary targets in order to flip the map

no worries with players Lagging due to AI but Ai is present and can destroy targets on your side so you must protect your assets from human and AI.

Targets Available on http://twcclan.com/campaign-server/

There are over 60 available targets on each map plus ships and vehicle convoys and trains all targets of opportunity that score points for your side

Flak is set to realistic so be aware it is nasty but also it is destroy-able.

We suggest Squadrons participating take recon photos to figure out where the flak concentrations are then run Jabo raids to nullify the AAA first then destroy the target with out loss. It's all about the teamwork :thumbsup:

Stats will be compiled for 120 days (if you live that long) then a web stats page will be revealed...

Question:

The dimmest bulbs in the sky wont get booted just because they can't find targets right away will they? This happened to me so many times in BOS that I just gave up:salute:

Theres plenty of AI bomber raids with Ai escort to keep you occupied if shooting ai planes is your thing.

raids launch every hour some with escorts, some try to sneak in... The raids are on targets of importance to your side if they succeed then your team falls behind the curve so to speak.But all is not lost if you can fly a fighter bomber or a bomber you can destroy enemy targets yourself and level the playing field.

First team to destroy all major listed in the briefing objectives wins..... the objective is to stay alive and help your team turn the map either by stopping the AI raids or destroying the objectives your self or with your team the map is 6 hours long and plays against itself if no one is in the server. Sometimes allies win sometime axis wins. time left and objectives displayed every 20 min or when someone new joins the party.

This all sounds like a lot of fun Fatal. I will try and get some ACG guys to help me out one of these nights. :thumbsup:

So, today I had fly with friends on this server. It was near 30 players online. We had fly in close formation and there were NO lags or freezez or performance drops. Everything works just fine.
