Hi chaps, don't know whether this has been brought up before but sometimes I just want to test my gun load-outs without having to go on-line as much prefer to do it in single player mode without having to look for the enemy when you can get them to come to you!!!:D

Have noticed that what-ever loud-out I choose when in single player mode and the aircraft shows that it is set up it is in fact the default load-out that is being used. Is there any way at all in being able to completely delete the default one in Cliffs so that mine is used instead or is it not possible.

If any-one can help would welcome an easy way to do it for my grey cells to understand.

Regards
Iron.

I so agree!

If this was all TFS solved, it would be worth the upgrade.

I've learnt to be "skilled" with just the default.

Could anyone tell me if gun convergence can be altered in single player mode?

Hi Hawk, yes you can alter the convergences in Single Player Mode but to do so select the Quick Mission then the aircraft you are going to fly press fly icon then you come onto the final screen showing the map. Press Player Plane then you will get Loadout option. you can then change your settings from there but not the ammunition itself.

I couldn't agree more. I fired up CoD last week for the first time in ages only to realize that all my load-outs from before Blitz were gone. I messed around for a bit trying to alter the load-outs again in single player only to find that they would not save.

This is one of the biggest pain in the ass items left overs form the original game and it still doesn't work.

I know you can alter the load-out in word pad but I just want to jump in, select a plane, mission and go...... :(

I was unable to save my custom loadouts whether or not I was on or offline. I thought it might be due to some problem with my directories during the installation, but I finally had to manually update my user.ini file with a text editor.

It's cryptic, but mine had a couple of loadouts already in it and I was able to use them as examples. I now have loadouts for all the 109 variants, it's a crude method but it worked for me.

Any way to set out step by step method or upload ini file?

Any way to set out step by step method or upload ini file?

First of all consider this method as the last resort, if possible I'd use the much easier default way. Below are two examples of the loadouts for my 109-4 and -4B. I have no custom loadouts for any bombers and I know they have more weapon sets (and other options?).

The text to the left is what I added to the file, the red text in parenthesis are my descriptions. I was unable to get the text to indent here, so I added two underscores on the folling lines to indicate that there're indented twice. The first line [Aircraft.Bf-109E-4] is far left and all the lines below are indented two spaces. Keep in mind that instead of numbering the weapons 1,2,3,4 they use the corresponding numbers 0,1,2,3. It's the same with the list of bullets on the right, they're numbered from top to bottom 0,1,2,3,4, etc.

The first four lines under the planes name, [Aircraft.Bf-109E-4] are the guns convergence distances. The first number is the horz, the second vert convergence.

The numbers in the 6th line below, for example, 5 5 1 2 3 1 5 5 1 are the bullets you choose for the weapons (the number 5, is the sixth type of bullet from the list on the right). I have nine in the cannon belts, ten in my machine gun belts, 1 4 3 3 3 4 4 3 3 3 (1 is phosphorus for example).

The last four lines set the weapon sets, regiment, regiment marking on or off (0=off 1=on) and the band colors (0 63 69 57) in this case.

weapons 1 1 - Arms the guns, the first 1 or the machine guns, the second 1 for the cannons. For example if you had: weapons 0 0 - You would spawn with no ammo. They add a third digit for bomber versions, 1=with 0=none.

My regiment marking and band colors were cut and pasted and probably wrong, I saved a copy of my original ini file, but I wrote over it by mistake. I'd like to verify and use the proper markings and colors eventually.

You also have to delete the default settings for the planes you create custom loadouts:

[Aircraft..Bf-109E-4]
weapons 1

Lastly there's an "aging" setting that I assume adds a weathering look? I haven't played with this yet and only have it on one plane.

Clear as mud?

Now you know why the default way to save loadouts is so much easier. I tried to attached my ini file for reference, but I got an "invalid file" error message. Maybe it's my fault or I can send a file via a massage or email.

I just muddled through this by trial and error, I don't profess to be an expert and wouldn't be surprised if I screwed up my file or that it could be written with fewer lines to accomplish the same thing. If you do this, be sure to save your original file!
