Free to play. Could be interesting if they dont get stupid with it. The pacific is a great fighting arena. They would need to get rid of those damn rail tracers tho. The graphics quality is questionably the same from Aces High. (Maybe a limitation imposed by having MMP - based purely on the limited info in the store) The Aces High series was great in its day tho I never thought their “patches” which were regular, amounted to much for the player. That said, they did have a large plane sets, so this could be very attractive. Ill give it a run.

i think its a good idea from hitech.

by focusing on one of the good parts of Aces High the dogfighting and combat. The carrier operations will give a good sense of how the pacific battles took place.

offering it free is a step away from the subscription model.

the main game whilst long in the tooth has always been a jack of all trades and a master of none, except the MMO aspect. 10 years ago they had 800 players in one arena now it struggles to get over 200.

I tried Aces High back in the day..before IL-2 2001. I didn't like that funny map though so I went back to Warbirds.
