Pilot please, Yo :salute:

Yo was great at showing some basic maneuvering at the impromptu training. Here are some basic maneuvers we could try out at the next session.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Basic_fighter_maneuvers#Maneuvers
[and some fun things to do https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aerobatic_maneuver]

I'll try to make a habit of getting on the server after work to work on some of these. I understand that nothing is ever by the book, but with practice we may be able to start recognizing some situations, and have some knowledge on how to handle them.

Pending on the time for this next event, I'll try to get some of the pilots knocked out paired up again to provide a break for those that would have otherwise had a back to back pairing.
Let me know your thoughts and suggestions.

I think we need to set some rules for the moth champ badge.

It's meant to be like how DRock has it.

Winners gets one badge per championship win.

Size - Not much bigger then the pilots fist.

We can start off practicing loops, rolls, and snap rolls. If time we can try some more.

Above video is of Fairchild PT-19 trainer used as primary trainer with the USAAC.

Engine more powerful by approx. 70 hp, (200 vs 135) and approx. 30 mph faster than the Tiger Moth, but not as maneuverable.

My favourite primary trainer was the De Havilland Chipmunk... designed in Canada.

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4b/DHC-1_Chipmunk_St-Rambert_01.jpg

It used the identical engine as the Tiger Moth, but was a low wing monoplane with a stressed skin all aluminum construction... managed to be as fast as the Fairchild with a lot less hp.

Also very maneuverable... nearly as good as the Tiger Moth. Used by the RAF as a trainer right up to 1996.

If I ever was able to afford an aircraft, this would be on my list of go to types.

Fully acrobatic, and a ton of fun to fly. :D

TM Shoot Out 1 - was first up against Yo. He got some *flukey - lucky* shots on me on the first pass and I spun out and crashed. Had a blast as a spectator.

TM Shoot Out 2 - just spectated. Mrs. Snapper wanted to know what I was laughing at - she could hear me from two floors down in my Rec Room/The Swamp.

TM Shoot Out 3 - had to work that day. On a Saturday, no less!!!! :grrr:

TM Shoot Out 4 - gonna try to make it this time.

I would rather not have people flying around when the fights are going on.

It's enough just getting everyone lined up on time.

Sorry, I should have clarified.

The ‘spectator’ box was meant to localize ground spectators and participants. The ‘airborne’ comment was meant towards pilots who just want to watch to battle.

That’s why I made Buzz that bright plane, so we wouldn’t mistake him for enemy.lol

Anyways, you guys are in charge of this, the map is just a suggestion.

Cheers

ATAG_Lord Wukits

I think that is a brilliant idea! I agree with Yo, Having multiple people in the air are problematic.

I wonder if there are object people can get into to watch the event. Items like a chair, or bleachers... etc.

Heck if someone trys flying the A1 I'd love to sit in the second seat as a spectator.[as long as I do not become a designated gunner]

Too bad spectators can’t sit in a g50 or something. The open canopy would make viewing a lot better. That upper wing on the moth is restricting at times.

I found the ‘follow friendly’ view to be the best one. No TrackIR needed.

I have about two weeks to milk this champion thing, because I’m not getting that lucky twice in a row.lol

Vroom Vroom. Stay tuned. Paint up your Su-26s and practice hitting your apexes, avoiding trees, and diving through hangars.

(The most important part is painting the Su-26s though. Can't race without a cool racing paint job.)
