View Full Version : Coolant loss?

Greetings again, since the talk of people actually fixing this game has turned into action(!!!) I am again interested.

One of the things that bugged me was planes could get a coolant leak, and run out of coolant... and nothing catastrophic would happen. In fact I dont really remember anything going particularly wrong when a plane was out. Considering the most important planes in this game and the majority of planes in the war were liquid cooled, this strikes me as fairly important. It also was flammable. I was wondering if the dev team was looking into this or not?

Oh yeah, and dont forget about the g50! :D

Good luck guys

Have you played the game lately? I thought coolant/radiator leakage now led quite quickly to engine overheat & seizure? The team's working hard to make the FM's of all aircraft as close to RL specs as the game will allow, so what is it about the G50 that bugs you?

Coolant leaks were modeled in the last official patch. Radiators hits would typically lead to complete engine failure in ~5 min.

Ok, its must have been before that when i looked at it. Any news in regards to its flammability? Its not just fuel that burns on a plane. I've no idea why planes light on fire so little

I can only repeat TF's commitment to get the FM's of all aircraft as close to RL specs as the game will allow. This will include the G50. The FM team are very dedicated chaps who have a vast array of plane technical data that they constantly pore over, the flight-testers are painstakingly recording performance at every altitude at standardised flying settings with each FM tweak and feeding info back to the FM team.
