Fight for a chance to get your name engraved into the Moth Cup.

May 4th, ( That's a Saturday! ) come join us for another Tiger Moth Shoot up!!

Starting at 21:00 GMT [16:00 EST]


CUSTOM SKINS!
Winners of the Moth events have a custom badge for their planes.






So if you would like to come and just watch from a spawned in plane, mark down "Spectator" and come see the action first hand over head.



Event Itinerary

- Everyone try and get on TS 15-20 min before start

- @2100GMT we will walk through the start up of the Tiger Moth (can be tricky for some) (5-10min)

- Everyone taxi to their starting spots (5min)

- Run 1vs1 (16 fight's @ 3-5min each) (50-70min)

- Take off at the same time (head to head, or together) then turn and fight to the death over the airfield.

- Team Match! (15-30 min+) If there is enough interest we'll try some 2v2 or 3v3!

- Free-For-All, for the remaining time.(Open to all if we get more than 16) (15-30 min+)

I wish to suggest that ATAG events be filmed and edited by a willing and able bodied person to be uploaded onto the ATAG channel. Yo seems to be pretty good at video editing :P
And we seem to have a number of people filming Cliffs stuff.

I've made a goal of trying to fly a minimum 1 hour everyday after work[1800 EST] and often find myself flying for over 3 hours. I plan on being on at roughly the same time tonight.

Saturday and Sunday 1500 GMT [1100 EST] sound good for everyone?

I'll definitely be available after that[minus lunch breaks], and you can reach me via TS, or steam[I carry the same alias].
This of course is not a "you must be here by then", just when I plan on jumping online, for those in different time zones. If you prefer a different time just post it, and we'll make ends meet! :thumbsup:

That being said, if you can reach me I'm always looking for an excuse to fly[any plane]. Worst case I'll let you know the earliest I'd be able to jump online to fly.

Yesterday you invited us to tell you about potential ways to improve the Tiger Moth monthly event.

I think it is perfect as it is, you guys really did a great job.

The only request I would have would be for the removal of these pinky marks on the ground that blow your aircraft up if you taxi over them, or at least disable their destructive effect. Unless of course I did not understand the reason for them being there. Are they not just supposed to be tarmac signage? Why do they have to blow us up?

Otherwise, several options were briefly discussed on comms last night, and I am listing them here just to start the discussion:

1. Flag Hunt competition: two teams departing from two different bases with the objective to get the "flag" from the other base first. The "flag" could for example be landing one plane on the enemy field and taxiing it under a hangar (or whatever makes sense). This would call for skills, tactics and strategy as the teams would have to split into one part attempting to achieve the goal (one person getting the flag and the others defending him) while the other part would stay behind to defend the base and prevent the opposing team to achieve their goal, or delay them since only the first one would win.

2. Introduce a system of points that would accumulate over several events and lead to an overall winner for the season. The purpose of this is to encourage people to participate to several events. I know, accounting for this is not an easy task, but it does not have to be over complicated. Points would be attributed based on certain achievements. For example (numbers are illustrative and need more thinking):
- winning a dogfight: 10 points
- winning the final (i.e. the last one standing): 10 additional points above those from winning the fights
- flying under 1 hangar 1 point, 2 hangars in a row 3 points, 3 hangars in a row 5 points.
- landing on the top of the mountain and and staying alive 15 points
- taking off from the mountain again 25 additional points
- etc.

also negative points could be attributed, for example:

- crashing without being shot down -1 point
- crashing into each other while dog fighting -2 points each
- shooting at the dog fighting planes from the spectator stands -25000 points ;)
- etc.

These are just ideas to trigger the discussion. They of course largely depend on popular interest.

Again, I am happy with the tournament as it currently is, but you asked for suggestions, so here is my bit.
