Hello all!
Team fusion seems to be on the right track to finally making CloD a winner! really looking forward to seeing what all y'all can do with the old girl!

Saw this over at SAS and it seemed right up your guys alley. Though Id be surprised if tiger isnt part of Team fusion already.

Enjoy, I certainly did!

There's also a discussion on the ATAG forum about game sounds HERE (http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?2670-A-Sigh-for-a-Merlin/page2)

As nice as the engine sounds are, the gun sounds are just as bad.
One can clearly hear the typical echoes of the shooting range and the Spit sounds as if there were only mg's max.
imo.

Speaking of gun sounds.

In a book I'm reading written by a pilot of that era, he describes the first time he fired his 8 brownings in his Hurricane.

He was surprised that it sounded like "heavy fabric being ripped".

The 109 sounds in the video are different, but I don't think they're better than what we already have. Imagine yourself listening to the same song over and over again for hours, then all of a sudden a new song is played; it just might be the sweetest sound ever just because it's a different song.

The 109 sound has a very noticeable repetition to it, and it would drive me nuts in no time at all; you can tell that it's only a one second loop.

The Stuka engine sound up until a few patches ago had a 5-7 second loop to it that has since been corrected; it becomes quite annoying even at 5-7 seconds.

This recording is from a G2, but I'll be damned if it doesn't sound just like the stock sounds.

Id agree the 109 sounds were pretty good up until the last patch or two, now it sounds like a tractor driving off in the distance.
When they first released the new sounds done by the RoF sound guy the 109 was sounding great-so of course they wrecked it.

Honestly, the sounds as they are now in the game are pretty spot on imho.

Yes, 109 in cockpit sound is very similar to that recording but it lacks bass like all engine sounds in the sim.

Merlin engine sound isn't even close to original.

To me, the Tiger sounds are off, and the game seems quite a bit closer the R/L. Funny, the old Jane's WW2 Fighters had very limited variety, but they nailed in-cockpit and fly-bys. Messers sounded like Messers, and Spits sounded like Spits. 38s lacked the turbo howl, so not a home run either.

If you remember correctly, the new sound engine was plagued by never ending sounds. For example; the distant 109 sound carried on playing even though the plane was long gone. So MG removed the offending sounds.

I remember not so long ago the RoF sounds sounded so great they were non-existent.

I agree that the current in game sounds are better then the tiger sounds. Tiger sounds are OK but have an odd phasing sound and obvious repetition which would get annoying very quickly.
