Hi all,

This clip is NOT designed to be critical of the ATAG server.. Nor is it a witch hunt to name and shame the player who was lagging.
It's just a quick example showing how the multi-player experience sometimes has these odd moments, and that "high-ping" does not appear to be a factor. Enjoy:

That looks more like a disconnect/game crash than a lag issue.

Received this today. Probably had something to do with it. Other than the network bugs in game, nothing server side could be the problem (on a normal day). The server has one of, if not the best Internet connections on the planet - directly connected to one of the main fiber trunk lines of the Internet itself with a limited to 10 gigabyte per second connection (upload and download). That's why the pings to the server location (central US) are very good from all over the world.

Im only a few 100 miles from the AGC server in Arizona and ping around 80-90ms to it, yet I'm 2600 miles from Chicago (ATAGs location) and ping low 30ms. That should give you an idea of the network we use :D
But I imagine this didn't help today:

We're seeing heavy (15%+) packet loss between our webserver in Seattle and our Chicago location currently (2:30pm CST on 2/20). This likely reflects a problem with Global Crossing or another specific NSP in Chicago. We have escaled this to the InterNAP NOC, as it's something they'll need to fix for us. Until it's resolved, our control panel and monitoring systems may have difficulty reaching your service in Chicago, leading to slow operation, timeouts, or seeing your servers as offline when they are actually running properly.
