I agree. I hope it doesn't go to that because if it does, I won't be doing it since I can't afford to pay each year for stuff like that. Hence why on MMO's I have yet to spend a single cent. I recall Jason posting something about it but I'll need to find it again.

A bit of off topic: I've talked to Jason a little over teamspeak a little while back and it was quite interesting to talk to him. It's been a while since I've flown RoF due to a login issue but I got that cleared up.

It seems to have created quite a stir on the Russian forum, but AFAIK the topic of payment method hasn't come up (yet) on the English counterpart. Stormy seas ahead.

No idea about the Russian forum, but the English language forum is very heavily moderated, so anything controversial would be instantly jumped on and locked/deleted.

That discussion was initiated by users who wanted a "Full war with economics" server (not like ATAG, SYndicate, but more like ADW for IL2@46). THe developers said that creating online war that is wanted by 1-2% of the customer base was difficult financially. Then one of the users suggested to pay for it by subscription. Loft said that they are considering many options including this one. But the talk was about global war server, not BOS for the rest of 98% customers.

Online wars like ADW, il2.org.ru, Ghost Skies, the old AW's and others are the best of IL2 Sturmovik 1946. This is a need. One of the things that make me continue to fly 1946 was the il2.org.ru campaign. I expect CloD can evolve with TF patches to something like that.

I think BoS developers have to create tools to allow the community to develop this kind of online war by their own. Since RoF had not this kind of war (do not known if it allows) is one of the reasons that i do not like it so much. If BoS fail to recreate 1946 online wars them it is doomed.

I like to fly full war. I feel that my effort are helping my comrades to win, that my acts contributes to the developing of the war. At the same time i have to fly with wisdom because if i lose my main ac i ll have to fly with crap ones, or even i ll not have one. I have to perform well to earn better ac, for personal glory, medals, etc. Fighting to be alive, to help your squad, escort your bombers etc...

To the guys that do not known:

In ADW missions involves supply, CAP, air superiority, recon, destroy tanks, capturing bases, cities ...The loses decreases the planes on both sides, etc. The missions are interlinked, like a campaign. Whe you take off you already have in mind what you ll do.

It has bigger goals than traditional "destroy X trucks, ships sink Y to turn the mission or to kill someone.

If reading the info and updates on BoS forums it is said that the game can be pre-ordered etc. It will have some planes, number still unknown, in release and the rest will be "like RoF" but still different. Time will tell and I am sure the devs there will clarify the issue under time. I can on the other hand fully understand the tight schedule and very strict finances after the incident called Cliffs of Dover. I remain hopeful on the title as it has the ingredients to be a success as has CoD with TF now working on it. Win Win for us simmers.

do yourself a favor and keep your expectations low, plus I would not bother hanging out at there forum, I would just wait for the beta and you will get a better idea where the project is heading.

Well no beta before fall or late this year. And by the looks of it propable for those who are either selected or pre-purchase the title. Sure would be interesting to see how it shapes up. I keep reading the updates as they seem to contain tidbits of info.
