Hi everyone,

This is a short video contributed by one of our beta team taken from the work-in-progress VR Visual Update beta. It shows the Light Clouds formation which, in gameplay, conveys a tremendous sense of depth and distance - in Virtual Reality and indeed for those of us with 2D monitors.

According to info supplied by the contributor of this video, there are 60 Spitfires and Hurricanes in formation, with another 24 Hurricanes some 6,000 feet below. They are all flying towards 72 Me 109's which are escorting 27 Stukas below them. In gameplay in VR the action is smooth, but the track .trk recording itself has a slight problem keeping up with all the action!

This made me wonder, is this the right video? It doesn’t show anything not keeping up with any action, taken from a track.

Hi J-Hat,

It's the right video. The full video taken from the track (ie NOT the live action) shows some warping between aircraft. Having extensive experience with Blitz/Tobruk, you would simply dismiss this as .trk artefacting - however many in the community, especially newcomers, would not understand and would mistakenly surmise that such warping would occur in actual gameplay.

I'm going to try to record a video of live footage shot in 2D that shows the smooth action of many aircraft sharing the same sky.

Cheers,

Snapper :salute:
