Newbie question : 1st & 2nd offical C of D game patches

I installed C of D last night for 1st time - it booted up fine and seems - ok -
I see there were at least 2 official game patches resolving many issues made available ,
but I can not find links to either of them at 1C or here -

I have an electronically downloaded version of the game from Steam Games site - They do not have the updates patches either -
My machine will run IL2 4.10.1 UP3 RC4 @ 1600X1200 objects and terrain all at 1024X1024 maxed out no problem -
I'm hoping the official game patches will resolve some of the shudder in the game as they say they will do -
can an experienced member of this forum running C of D successfully link me to the 1st two official game patches for an
"out of the box : version of C of D ???

Hi Wateratty,

Welcome to the forum.

If you have installed via Steam then you have the latest official version with the official patches.

If you want to install the Team Fusion community patch then you can download that from this forum.

Steam will automatically update to the latest official version of CloD. There is a community made unnofficial MOD available here http://theairtacticalassaultgroup.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3777 when you're patched up to the latest version.

In short: No.

There is a skin pack in the works, but not ready yet.

Not at all, it's more like a patch that should have been done by the original devs themselves but never materialised, correcting flight models, colours and much more, just follow my link I gave in my previous post and read for yourself.

No, it's more like sewing a shirt back together which you bought, only to find out when you got home that it was full of holes.

I have installed the MOD exe - I have a message telling me the move "settings ini" files in my MOD
folder - exactly which files make up the "settings ini " files - or exactly what should be in my MOD folder?

You need to launch the new moded version at least 1 time, to create the necessary folders under "mydocumments", next to official 1cCliffsofDover folder.

Q: I can not find out how to switch of the red cockpit lamp, see attached photo, and there is a gray box I did not toggle or select , that is always on my screen
and how do I stop all on screen sub titles ? In IL2 there is a setting in the conf.ini file to halt all subtitles - I would like to turn them off -
my video card is functioning perfect but there is a bright-washed- hazy effect over the entire screen -

Thanks for everyone patient responses - because I did not have some of the more difficult issues with installing the basic game I am encouraged to
keep tweaking it and not give up on Cliffs of Dover yet - I am spoiled by IL2 UP3, and there is obviously a steeper learning curve to Cliffs, -

Not sure what you mean about lamp toggle (undercarriage indicator?)

Now about the strange gray box its a easy fix. Press ALT key and left click it and you will active that particular box. Then you can right click for options or choose to close it :)

Great - OK followed your directions and I got rid of the box - Now, any Idea about how to get rid of the on screen pilot chatter-subtitles?

what option in the desktop cliffs menu is the subtitles? or what does Cliffs of Dover call subtitles?
so I will know what to select to turn off ?
