Hi All,

I have a GEFORCE GTX 690 graphic card and I'm now looking for a 120Hz gaming monitor to purchase to take full advantage of the 690 card.

My question is fairly simple, what brand and size monitor could you recommend.

benq does pretty good gaming 120mhz monitors. most of 'pro gamers' recommend that brand. some of them describe benq as the best gaming monitors currently avaliable on the market

newegg has 6 ..only 6 120mhz monnitors listed http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007617+600255030&QksAutoSuggestion=&ShowDeactivatedMark=False&Configurator=&IsNodeId=1&Subcategory=20&description=&hisInDesc=&Ntk=&CFG=&SpeTabStoreType=&AdvancedSearch=1&srchInDesc=

i would just look at a small TV like 32,40 etc there are 107 LCD ones listed. there is a 39 LCD/LED toshiba for $489 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889253335 compared to a 27 acer monitor for $449 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009300

I personaly use my 46 HD tv as my monitor (custom made gaming chair) so i would consider the TV option.

Hey Berserker, 120hz isn't all it's cracked up to be. I'm not sure you'd notice much of a difference.

I'd also avoid using a TV for a monitor unless you are prepared to sit much farther back from your screen.

Hi,

I have a Benq XL2410T 120 Hz monitor. I'm very happy with it. However the colours out of the box were not good. It needed calibrating. After that the colours were great. Good enough for occasional photo work as well as gaming.

define farther back...i sit 5 feet away :) I am not sure i could go back to a monitor at this point, as keller said 120 is problay not all its cracked up tobe because i highly doubt you could notice the difference between a solid 60 fps and 120 fps , plus if you lock the fps to 60 the card does have to work so hard for something you wont notice :)

Personally if find the difference between 120 and 60 very noticeable, but I think it is something that matters more in FPSes then a flight sim.

One thing to take note of when looking at TVs is the input lag. Generally it is higher on TVs then monitors. But again this is probably something that matters more in first person shooters.

S!

I am using the ViewSonic 24" 120Hz screen. Prefer it over my previous 60Hz screens, much crisper and more responsive.

I have a Samsung 120hz monitor , "27. It a huge difference over 60hz , for Clod because it runs so crap you might not notice much but for a high end DX11 graphics game running everything maxed out you can defenatley see a difference with 60hz vs 120.

I use a Samsung 750 series 40" TV (Pre LCD). My impression is that anything bigger would be a trade-off, since I'd have to sit a little farther away so as not to see a granular picture. I sit 2 ft away at present--just enough to be able to use my desk's top. The TV "ghosted" and "bled" at first, then I figured out that it prefers its VGA-in jack over its "upscale" ones. This is an older 120Hz TV, but I wouldn't go back to a monitor now. I use it for 3-D development. With my old eyes, smaller would drive me crazy. I have to admit that I don't do much flying at the moment, so my TV might lack some nuances needed for a good competative fight. My GTX 670 gives good fps on max settings (shadows off) at 1920 x 1080.

pretty much nit the nail on the head there. i am using a samsung 27" 120hz monitor to and i only really notice the difference in clod when i do allot of head movement, but as for other games then it is a big 10 4 when it comes down to noticing it.

Im after one too, but really want to see one in action before spending a lot of money on one!

I've always had a problem with games where anything fast moving appears to skip from frame to frame rather than fluidly move. Even at a true 60hz it happens! (have turned graphics RIGHT down on various games to get a solid 60fps)

Here's a good read: http://www.overclock.net/t/662628/60hz-vs-120hz-explained

Also note that 120hz displays may give you a headache if you have lights on in the room.

I know many here have already posted their experiences with 120hz monitors, but I just must add that it is absolutely night and day difference. So much so that I can NEVER go back to 60hz, the smoothness is reminiscent of a quality CRT and is addicting (of course not CRT response time, LCD can't seem to get below 2ms(GTG), we'll need to wait for AMOLED monitors for that kind of awesomness).

Since 2017, I'm also using GEFORCE GTX 690 graphic card with my acer gaming laptop; along with all gaming asseories. As concerned to Moniter her, I would recommend you to choose c355w-3440un (https://letsfindbestprice.com/sceptre-35-inch-c355w-3440un-review/) a 35-inches Sceptre Curved LED that will make you gaming studio like a boom for sure! Must try this model and thanks me later.
