Saitek X52 Pro profile without TrackIR

Hi there,


So I ordered IL-2 COD and installed the Team Fusion 3.0 patch. Everything seems to work correctly, except I purchased my joystick just recently so I have no profile yet to use as a basis for COD. I read several times that it'll be very long to configure, and I'm not surprised. My problem is that I have absolutely no experience with joysticks and flight sims so far, so I wouldn't know which actions to bind, nor have I any experience on how to bind them conveniently (for optimal handling).

Is there someone here with a Saitek X52 Pro who could share his profile? I would use it as a basis for a while just to get used to the joystick gameplay and the sim commands, and perhaps later I'll decide to change a few things for myself based on my experience and habits, but I first have to learn how everything works.

I have no pedals (but the X52 Pro has rudder control included in the joystick by twisting it clockwise or counter-clockwise) nor TrackIR. If someone has a profile but mapped in conjunction with a TrackIR device, that'll do the job too, I'll just edit it to set free view on one of the directional sticks, so don't hesitate to share it!

Many thanks in advance for your help! If it's of any use, I plan to pilot a Spitfire Mk IIa, but that won't be the only aircraft I want to try, and even if your profile is for another ship, it will make a very good basis for at least getting into the game.

By the way, isn't there a "Joystick profils sharing" subsection on this forum? I was thinking it could be useful to a lot of people (and incidently increase the rate of page visits around there, as I'm sure there are many people trying Google requests on "[brand of their joystick] profile Cliffs of Dover")...

Alright, so thanks to the PMs I've received, I've managed to configure the joystick according to my preferences (without the Saitek software, I did it directly in COD). There is still something I want to do and I can't find how to do it.

I have no TrackIR and I find the directional hats on the stick are not convenient, because the 8 directions are 0/1 inputs. I prefer analog setting, just like the mouse when we middle click and drag. I would like to use the mouse stick on the throttle lever to do so, and preferably without modifier key. Here is how I'd like it to work:

- I move the stick, the independent view moves smoothly;
- I click the left button just beside the stick, it turns off independent view, and the mouse sticks then controls the cursor (to show tooltips on the cockpit).

The click switch does work, I can switch between independent view and cursor mode correctly. However when I move the stick, nothing happens in COD, in both modes. In the Windows Control Panel (joystick's calibration window), the mouse stick actually moves in the bottom right square (mouse X/Y). What I am missing for it to be recognized as a mouse in COD?

CloD don't allow map this directly since POV can't be controlled with axis.
You need use Saitek software to make throttle "stick" emulate mouse movement.

Possible alternatives: Use JoyToKey to do the same thing, or NewView.

Thanks. Actually what I did was OK, I just figured out that I had to close the Joystick properties window (in Config panel) so that the mouse stick actually works in other windows... I had nothing to change then. Still using the X52 "left click" as a switch between cursor and view modes, and the mouse stick to move. :) Works great. Next improvement will be a TrackIR, but not now. ;)

I can't get this to work. My "button" for POV adjustment works, but the mouse "stick" movement fails to do anything. It (the mouse stick) does work in the profiler so it's not broken. Can anyone suggest what I've done wrong as it seems such a simple tutorial and set up I can't believe I've buggered it up lol.

I've got the x52 Pro but can't get it working in CoD (v4.3, windows 7 64bit). CoD doesn't see the joystick very well and it's the only game i have this problem. And yes i have the latest drivers.
Please, can somebody send me the profile (and confUser.ini) ? Thanks a lot. BtW, do you need to clean ....\Documents\1C SoftClub\il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover - MOD\cache and more/other folders?

I finally managed to purchase a TrackIR, but I kept my configuration almost unchanged (because I was lazy), so here it what it looks like:

(Mixture lever does not work well if I recall correctly, so I tended to use the mouse to move the lever in the aircraft... Or I didn't change mixture at all, I'm not experienced enough yet!)

I am not quite sure my Saitek profile and my confUser.ini files are still 100% like on the picture. I actually think I did change a few things (but don't remember what because I don't play much these days, a lot of work), but they should be pretty close. And anyway, the picture was made before I got the TrackIR. It was working, but it was still frustrating to move the view with hands without a mouse. I am not an advanced played, so you should expect some functions not to be assigned! :D

It is nowhere to be found on my computer, and I would like to resume playing IL-2, preferably with my old configuration without all controls configuration work before.
