Not a tutorial, but what I know about:

Name created point (waypoint) is optional.
The point icon can by change to Aircraft, AAA, Ship, Factory, Tank, Label, etc.
To measure angle in left map quadrant draw the reference line North - South (0-180), the result angle need to be added to 180 to HDG.
To measures angle in right map quadrant draw the reference line South - North - the result angle is HDG.
Know drawbacks:
Is difficult click to draw lines for angle measures if waypoint is near map borders.
Unable to drawn permanent lines over map to make a flying route, only the last drawn line,
distance or angle - remains.
