Is there any way to raise static objects (that is set them at a height above the surrounding ground)? For example, setting a static aircraft at a height that makes it looks like it is up on a set of plane lifter stands undergoing repairs?

You can change the z-offset of the object, however that won't change its orientation at all, so you'll have an aircraft with wheels down as if it were sitting on the ground, except hovering in the air. You can put the jacks under it, but it doesn't look that great (I've tried).

The z-offset does work well for things like putting oil cans on wings, things on tables, flags on top of hangars/buildings, etc. and the like.

Mess about with it and see what you can come up with. The z-offset is on the last tab of the static object parameters.

z-offset seems to work for all objects except static aircraft - darn!!!!!
