Hi everyone,

I just got a query from a forum member on how to post photos within a post. I explained that he first had to upload his photos to a public photo website, then copy and paste the URL (and ".jpg") thusly:

Your_Photo_URL.jpg in the text of your post.

I use pbase.com, but that involves a yearly fee (I use this site for work-related stuff, too). However, can anyone recommend a FREE website to do this?

Thanks,

Snapper

Any reason why he doesn't use the 'insert image' option when posting a message?

www.imageshack.com (http://www.imageshack.com) is what I use.

Edit: Keller update - Correction, it's actually www.imageshack.us

Thanks again, Keller!

That's perfectly fine, in fact I've done it that way for a long time. As you know, the "insert image" places a clickable thumbnail. Some prefer to have the photo viewable in its full size within the post. Ain't no big 'thang.

As an example YouTube has a distinct address in the address bar at the top of your screen. Copy this and then do as I indicated above and paste that address into the indicated areas and apply. It should come up like this --->

You cannot post a video to this forum directly from your computer as far as I know. As ChiefRedCloud has shown above, you must first upload your video to a video website like YouTube or Vimeo, then paste the URL of your YouTube (or Vimeo) video as Chief shows above.

Haven't used it for years but photobucket.com has a fairly robust free service. Copy/pasted from their site:

"Standard features

With a standard Photobucket account, you will get 10GB upload limit per month with a storage capacity of 500 MB."

Their nearest competitor Flickr is similar.
