:salute:

Well, this is hardly the most important mod we're made, but a nice little piece of eye-candy; the ability to place a picture of your loved one in your cockpit :D

This mod is 100% optional.
It will be supplied with some "default" temporal movie stars + Photoshop templates for your own pictures.
The first person to point out that sticky tape was not around at the time of BoB will be banned roflmao

Some pics:

...and if you don't have/feel like seeing your girlfriend/wife/boyfriend/husband/dog/family, you can always pay some respect to Oleg Maddox :D

Well, as my girlfriend is against anything related to war, I don`t think she will like to be in my cockpit, but I fear she will not have a choice...
(Oleg is a serious competitor tough....).

PS: As it is not a secret anymore, is this one photoshopped?

http://i1054.photobucket.com/albums/s497/MusseMus77/Screenshot19296_zps69bc9a68.png

The 109 in the background looks so god-damn realistic on my screen, it is just unbelievable....

:) Well my wife is not a big fan of wars either (and frankly neither am I if we're talking RL) , but she has no choice but to decorate my cockpit

The pic is an old WIP pic of the present aircraft reflections system, but with a quite overdone SweetFX setting :D Glad you like it, but we're currently working on a tweak to make the aircraft in front look realistic as well

Cheers/m

Awesome! Silent hunter V did this, and its very immersive, well done!!! Cant wait! Is the frame rate issue when a plane catches fire and smokes still fixed like in the video? That for me will make a world of difference, as it always caused my "fast" pc to stutter, which really spoils the effect of all the eye candy. Just curious..I saw the earlier videos of the side by side, and hoping thats a done deal as far as fixes..

So potentially we could have a recon picture or "mud map" of our main objective taped to our dash of our bomber?

Ooohhhh I like this idea, there's only so may times you can fly a blenny round a target before the AA gets its eye in :)

Right now the mod serves no "practical purpose", but your idea is good and maybe we will try to implement something like that in the future

Now that's truly out-of-the-box thinking!

That fits in with the "Ground Markers" thread where the discussion has involved the taking and posting of recce pics of the target areas.

Cool! I take it that a photo of Oleg in your cockpit is the eagerly awaited revolutionary feature we have been promised for so long? Yeah!

Short Question to Team Fusion: Will the new damage-model also include a new collision-model? Today, I took down Moonbird from 92. Sq. by ramming him. His wing got clipped of whereas I was undamaged. And it was clearly my fault to ram him. It would be great if in the future, situations like this would be more realistic.

As I was shot down 10 seconds later by a friendly, my karma is okay again, but still...

Thanks!

perhaps in addition to the above question what's with the collision-model of loose plane parts, e.g. loose wingparts? is there a solution in sight?
feel free to ignore this question if there is nothing peculiar to write about. don't want to annoy you guys from TF, i'm just overly curious
keep going TF! :salute:

Most of the time, anomalies like the above mentioned collision whereby one aircraft is damaged but the other is unaffected are a result of the differences in connection speed between two players, and the 'lag' effect resulting from the delay of information being transmitted between one player's machine and anothers.

We can't do anything about those lag effects, if you play single player, you won't see them.

Well.. a pic of Oleg in the cockpit IS a feature not seen in any other flight sim, so I can't say you're wrong :)

Hmmm... yes and no I think. I had situations where it was definitely a ping-lag-problem. In such situations I wouldn`t have noticed anything about the hit, eg. no shaking, etc. But in the case I mentioned above, my aircraft "recieved" the collision. After coliding, my plane got into a stall because of the hit. Cases like this could probably be solved...

But whatever:-) Surely not the first priority and I am thankfull for everything else you do!

When will the pink, fuzzy dice be added?

1930
Richard Drew, a young 3M engineer, invents Scotch® Cellulose Tape. Later to be renamed Cellophane Tape, it is an attractive, moisture-proof way for grocers and bakers to seal packages. The tape helps people make do during the Great Depressionthey made simple repairs to household items.

1932
Scotch® Brand introduces the first heavy-duty, countertop tape dispenser. Its made from cast iron and weighs almost 7 pounds.

1939
Scotch® Brand welcomes the "snail,"its iconic, handheld tape dispenser. The first version is made from stamped sheet metal, and a molded plastic model is added one year later.

1941-1945
During World War II, almost all tape production is diverted to the war effort. 3M develops and manufactures more that 100 different types of tape to help solve war production problems such as sealing, identifying parts, holding materials, protecting and insulating, putting Betty Grable pin-ups on barracks walls, and sticking pilots' photos of girlfriends in their aircraft cockpits! Scotch® Double-Sided Tape, coated with adhesive on both sides, joins the transparent tape family during this time.
