catchy title... but I digress.

Couple of suggestions to help with game play:

1. sure would be nice to see how many objects you destroy when you drop a bomb
2. would be even cooler to see that stat by your name - seems all these games just want dogfighting but bombing is a major part of the game
3. add working level stabilizers to the bombers
4. don't put the primary objective for a Blenheim within 20 feet of all the German bases - it's hard enough as it is
5. reduce the flak and make the other team's fighters actually need to defend the targets

I tried to fly the Blenheim, but it was mostly suicide runs - I hit the supply depot, but got no stats for it, couldn't really even tell if I hit it (outside of it smoking). That was one mission of out of 10, I was nailed by flak most the time and shot down the other half :)

Just some suggestions! Right now, I mostly just shoot down bombers, (at least until LOD is fixed, I can't dogfight because the icons always disappear on me - but bombers are bigger and I can see them)

I do like how AI bombers are always spawning as targets. The more the merrier :)

Hello Recon

Glad to hear you are enjoying getting started.

See this thread:

Until we put out Release 2 with the improved LOD's, following the advice there may help out with seeing the enemy.

1. You can, look down XD
2. I could be wrong but I suspect the way stats work in game is not moddable, certainly not on a per map basis. However as for the website stats I wholeheartedly agree, better stats of all kinds would be awesome.
3. Did the Blenheim have one? The ju-88 and the he-111 have rudder autopilots, and I didn't have any trouble with them, they work in game.

I was thinking along the lines of how Mode22 works for the He-111.

As far as Blenheim, there is a tradeoff here. They didn't have single pilots doing flying, bombing and gunnery all at the same time in the Blenheim did they ?

I think it's unrealistic to expect a fully manned Blenheim on every sortie - it's unrealistic to expect one person to do flight + level bombing.

A 'level stabilizer' is simulating that the pilot is piloting the plane on a straight and level course while you are playing the role of the bombardier. That is 'realistic' to me. If we want to remove it when multiple humans fly, so be it.

(It's also 'unrealistic' that the bombardier can't move his head sideways on the bombsight)

:)

fair points

I'm not sure what is possible regarding the Blenheim. However historically it did suck pretty much as bad as it does in game. If possible it would be good to get some other bombers in the game on the british side.

The easiest answer is to just run maps that are designed for the current state of things. The blenheim is fine for sinking ships, it's not fine for hitting far flung targets that require numerous runs to destroy.

How about relying less on murderous ack and more on screaming for help?

What I mean by that is that I wonder if we could reduce the murderous ack and use the code that allows a rear gunner to warn the pilot of a nearby bandit to instead post a message saying that a field or convoy sees an approaching bomber? It has always been a bit stupid that an enemy can spend 10 minutes picking off the targets at a remote location and nobody calls for help. In fact, even if you left the murderous ack, it would be still useful if targets reported that they were under attack so fighters could rush to help.

Blenhiem was actually a very good bomber for it's period, fast , reasonable load and reliable, problem was just like all light bombers of the time, irrespective of who made them, they couldn't survive unescorted in airspace controlled by enemy air cover, aircraft development left it behind just as it left the Do17, Stuka etc behind!
