Hi gents,

found this:

2. In autumn when the early access begins, will players be offered multiplayer servers and TS, or will it be all up to them? Or beta is for offliners only?

We’ll prepare everything for you.

11. A few people have asked this a number of times but I still don't think we have had a clear answer yet... Will BOS have IL2 style CO-OPs?

Obviously, it’s just hard to believe our answer, but it is no. And we hear your roar of indignation, but please let me explain everything first. Yes, we have all necessary technologies and yes, they work perfectly, but we have made a conscious decision not to release co-op at launch. The reason is because we want to make it good. And it’s much more than just technologies; it’s a certain level of service – convenient, reliable, and inviting. And this level of service we can’t provide at launch. It may become possible someday if the project is popular and develops with a positive dynamic. The good news is that the MP environment that will be available at launch can support squadron based missions and objectives easily and missions can be flown with your friends in a co-op style without much difficulty with just a little coordination between pilots.

when yes i am in :-)

I don't think they or some of us understand Co-Op style? there's MP so why co-op?
Co-Op to me means like ai on one side and your players on the other, why we need that when you have MP.
and beside the DN engine has MP with AI so you can have it just like CLODS running.

If your talk'en about Player campaign dynamics that's not Co-Op.

Co-Op once again is strictly AI-V-Humans.

Does anyone really need Coop? We have no Coop in CloD, does anyone miss it? I don't understand all the problems about no Coop at launch, just coordinate yourself with other players and you have coop, as simple as that!

VEF
VOW

But serious, what these have that "Battle of France" SOWC (for example) dont have?

Curiously, in Russian BoS forum no one care about this lack of "il-2 COOP"...

Mastiff have you actually ever flown any co-ops? You can have all a.i. opposition if you want but it's much more fun against breathers. Co-ops are one of the reasons IL2 1946 just keeps on going. I'm a member of an online squad that flies nothing but co-ops - we field around 25 active members every week. Perhaps the biggest reason CLoD never got taken up by the majority of my squad was lack of straight forward co-op functionality compared to IL2 1946.

I think they're making a mistake by not including it in BoS. It's a great pity as RoF has a fairly decent co-op mode - so they know how to do it - but lacks a lobby system where players can meet up.

well if its in the engine I'm sure if that feature is time demanding atm and can not be completed due to the 1C's scheduling demands and budget. If they get any reasonable support. They stated other things may develop in the future.

It is obvious what a community can achive, or even some people that put in time and effort. Look at Storm of War campaigns. Thats the best example of what is possible in a normal multiplayer environment. 45 pilots on each sides taking part in a coordinated mission, escorting bombers, fighter sweeps, low level attacks, low/medium/high altitute patrols and reconaissance to just name a few! Seriously, what do we need coop for?

I think the "uproar" is people thinking co-op is dynamic campaigns.

Yes!

The ironic of CloD "no-il2COOP" complaint is that with 41Sqn_Banks script (http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=34939) - just save with mission name - every game mission, include Desastersoft ones, can be played as "COOP" (PvE, PvP, mixed).

The "drawback" is that players need pick plane in Warbirds 2.7 style, typing in CHAT bar:

!select1 (2, 3...) and to see the available list, !aircraft (could be shortened to "!fly1"...)

This is NOT "il-2 1946 COOP (Select plane, hit READY, await (until someone load the proper HOTAS profile, re-start the game because AV start scanning, feed the dog,...) server hit FLY - and "rinse, repeat" if something go wrong - like "I am not sure if this is the drop bombs button... Ops!" :)

But after all, it's "COOP". People who don't fly CloD because the "no-il2COOP" is losing more than that (of course, IMO), including flying in "COOP". :D
