Dear pilots!

I'm glad to announce that this Wednesday, August 14th we'll be streaming the game on Twitch.tv
You'll see the current version of the game and hear comments from Albert 'Loft' Zhiltsov and me, Andrey 'Zak' Shumakov.

The stream starts in 16:00 GMT.

Dear all, this is the very first stream that we're making, and it will be in Russian. Sorry for inconvenience. The next stream will be in English. And this one will be published on YouTube later this week with all the conversations transcripted into video captions in English

I sincerely count on your understanding.

Stay in touch!

Streaming's so bad it looks like series of screenshots, to me.

Looks quite functional and useable... but also not up to the graphic level of CoD.

But maybe that's the stream limitations.

Also wondering about advanced engine management, don't see the indication of separate prop/boost controls.

But again, maybe they weren't demonstrating that at the point I was watching.

Terrain very strongly reminds me of RoF, as well as the general environment, clouds, distance, etc. Well done, but no revolution.

they showed it. mixture lever, prop pitch, throttle. and magnetos.

I didn't see anything there that I'd say was a massive improvement on old IL2. Obviously the LaGG and it's cockpit are visually better, there are no 'Oleg Trees', and roads curve instead of zig-zag. Those oil drums and crates still look like bad sketches, the vehicles not much better.
I did see the part which demonstrated throttle, mixture and pitch controls, but how is it implemented? RoF only has mixture and throttle, and the mixture is so simple it's hardly believable.
So, this 'live stream' didn't show me anything that Mastiff, Hooves and the devs haven't shown me already, tbh.

Every time I see those beautiful cockpits dumbed down I get sick.

the vehicles not much better.

But notice that vehicles dont move like a "headless ant" like in another sim. :)

At some point of video is show moving levers for throttle, mixture, prop pitch (like in il-2), but not in flight.

In general, which has been shown is what the "average il-2 simmer" want, a il-2 with festooned graphics. :D

I believe this is a blog of Loft showing off either ROF or BOS with the Oculus Rift. Its very interesting.

Loft said there was nothing really new to show that we haven't already seen. Although I was very interested to see whether or not they were able to implement some kind of OR support in time for the event.

Does anyone have a recording of what was streamed?

At the time this was on, I was knee deep in work :(

The pilot moving in the cockpit makes the AC so much more life like, I'd never have believed it if I hadn't seen it.

Hmmm...video is horribly laggy, which is a shame. I'd like to see something more fluid...

I'm becoming less keen on this, now the videos are coming out. All the talk/ commentary is always (seems to me) about how it compares (slightly better) to ROF. I know they don't like to mention CloD... but surely CloD (patched) is the benchmark no?

The in flight videos look more to me like Il2:1946.. the winter landscape is incredibly bland. I hope it's not being used as an excuse to provide low quality texturing/ landscapes...

Are those loading screens for real too?
Lot's of time spent looking at lading screens.....

The sun is much more sexy than CloD though. Doesn't seem to completely blind the pilot at indirect angles.... which is an improvement I think, on CloD.
~I also saw another vid about the gunsight modelling. That was also pretty sexy (focus to infinity).

No, they weren´t loading screens, just pause screens during the presentation.

Lag is due to the live streaming.

See this official youtube clip of the presentation, with very helpful subtitles included. I think it all looks great with just the cockpits a tad less detailed than in CoD.
