reading a technical book on the 110 and each mg has a compressed air flask. what were they for?

Were those Cannons not fired by an electro-pneumatic system, hence the CO2 bottles near the breech of each weapon?
EDIT~ Sorry I was trying to find a description of what that is, All I do know is that it was introduced to reduce muzzle blast and to aid in Recoil, both obviously very beneficial to Cannons firing from the nose

The wing/engine MGs is pneumatic triggered.

so how does that work? you pull the trigger on the stick, that sends a signal to.......
From what I know the compressed air was used to blow a jammed round out of the chamber!
