Not sure if this is preaching to the converted or not, but i use this excellent system care tool which has a game boost application that seriously improves GPU and overall game performance. My old GTX 460 improved 40%, going from windows perf. index 6.2 to 7.5.

Maybe you already have something similar, maybe not.

Give it a go!! :-)

Interesting, I didn't find any reliable review of the software. Is anybody using it already? 40% GPU increase seems a bit unlikely unless your system was not looked after properly to begin with....?

I used to use it when I only had 2GB main system memory. What it does is not directly related to the GPU, it kills all background applications, freeing up main memory. If your system is choked with background apps, it might help.

Now that I have a system with 8GB RAM, I don't need it.

oh ... gamebooster. Well at least I know what it is now, I thought it was some magical gpu enhancing software or similar software like this: http://www.lucidlogix.com/technology-virtual-v-sync.html

I´ve been using ASC for 2 years mostly to clean up garbage and small optimizations. As performance tool when i tried on my old laptop to boost some frames on DCS and early versions of Clod I have not seen much improvement.

The only real utilization for LucidLogic is to record movie files without performance hit, using the program Action!

On Lolsav's suggestion awhile back I switched to Action from FRAPS. It has virtually no impact on frame rates and utilizes the CUDA engine in my Nvidia 680 vid card. It yields good quality recordings. My only beef with Action is that, like FRAPS, the hot keys do not accept joystick button inputs -- just keyboard strokes. Very strange in that Teamspeak and TrackIR software do accept Directx inputs.

I corresponded with FRAPS about this some time ago and they seemed puzzled by the concept of a HOTAS system. Even in discussion over at the banana forum many players were likewise puzzled why anyone would want to trigger record on/off from a joystick button when you presumably have a keyboard right in front of you. I did use TARGET software as a work around, but not all joysticks have keyboard emulating software. Of late I've stopped using TARGET since it caused problems at times with TrackIR, so it's back to the keyboard when using Action (or FRAPS) to record video or taking screenshots.

thanks, I'll look into action... Though I always seem to get a timeout error when I record through tracker on the atag server. I presume the correct way is first use tracker, then when you're replaying it use action?

As for your joystick key binding... just use joytokey... works for me:)

Since patch 4.0 no more timeouts while recording track on server. As for your second question: Yes use action for recording when replaying the track if you wish. Altought since it has no fps impact it can be used to make "live" videos, capturing what ppl said at that exact moment, etc.

ok, that's good news then, now i can record my horrible performance every time!
