Beige rectangle in upper left corner

Strangely, a day, and many plays after installing 4.0, which is wonderful, I have started to get a beige rectangle in the upper left corner. Is this a bug, or did I unintentionally toggle some feature? I have never seen this before.

You can disable it like any other window, must have accidentally enabled it :)

I have tried. How? Help will be appreciated. I tried right clicking on the screen. None of the categories pertained to this box, only the translucent events log.

Left ALT + LEFT click of mouse to hightlight

After that right click on square and you should have option to customize/dele or even move around if you put mouse over titlebar
