Hello,
here I am again in pointing out small bugs in the italian aircrafts.
I was having a blast online tonight with the Fiat G.50 but... I found out that the engine temperature gauge in the cockpit doesn't work.
If you switch to the cyl.heads temperatures, the temperature shown is always 30°, it never changes...
Also in the OFF position, it just shows the "30°" temperature there.
I found out also another bug, this time in the "animation" of the plane.
When the guns are fired, you can see that the big button above the control column is depressed...
This is historically incorrect.
That button above the control column in the italian fighters was used for braking, not for firing.
In order to fire the main weapons, there was a "finger-trigger" handle on the column.
It can be seen in the game, on the left part of it.
In order to fire, the pilot switched this finger-trigger handle from the right position, to the fore position. In that case,
the handle looked like a normal machine-gun trigger. It could be pressed with the right hand, in the same manner as if firing a normal gun.
In THIS WEBSITE (http://www.modellismochepassione.it/cloche-di-aereo-da-caccia-italiano-fiat-g50-freccia-mod-a/) you can clearly see how it was made in reality.
Here it is:
5121
You can see three buttons/levers used in a control column used on a Fiat G.50bis fighter-bomber.
The big top button was for breaking the main wheels.
The finger-trigger seen here on the left was for firing the main machineguns
The small button on the right was used to release the wing-bombs
(the photo is taken from the front-left view)
I hope these small bugs will be patched up in the next updates. :salute:
Cheers
