Guys,
I'm wondering how difficult it would be to fix this. I brought this up to 1C before the first release but no sh* was given :-)

The font of the RAF lettering is incorrect in game. Back in the BoB it was more like this:

5141

This font is available here:

5142

Do you think you could possible change this for the next update? Or perhaps someone with the knowledge could make a mod out of this? I have no idea how these things work.

Thank you in advance!

Agreed.

However not all squadrons used the same font/size of lettering or positioning, so changes to this will never be perfect.

Anything is possible:recon: seeing as the 109's got some 'skin love' it would be nice to see something similar for other planes

It varied enormously in font and colours. What would be best would be authentic fonts/default skins for squadrons, I am sure the community can help with that. ACG have 3 RAF squadrons nailed historically (thanks for Robo and Kristorf), you can see the huge disparities.

No.615 (I love this style, really 'home grown')

Yes, they were different in size color and shape. I like the oversized letters of 610 the best. It would be nice to have them all corrected, but if someone managed to change the font to the one I posted, that would already be a huge step forward IMO.

Bumming an old thread, but any weird on this?
What ask would be involved in actually fixing this? Is there a template in game that needs to be fixed?

Furthermore, in 1946 you could edit the regiments file in order to add your own lettering. I am *ahem* a Wing Commander, that is I command 3 RAF squadrons. Wing Co's never used squadron codes, they used their initials. Check my sig, I'm using the letters of Thomas Baine Prickman, Wing Co. of Kenley Wing during part of the Summer of 1940.
