View Full Version : RAF Redux Campaign self-reset

I've been happily working my way through the RAF Redux campaign and had successfully completed the Blenheim escort to Calais and back. Next up was a mid-channel patrol which I had yet to fly due to daily obligations. When I loaded the campaign up this morning expecting to resume, I was perplexed to see that the "continue" button was missing. It seems the campaign had lost all progress I had made. I have no idea what could have happened. Any idea if there is a file edit or something that might let me resume where I left off?

Addendum: I'm not sure what's going on. Besides the aforementioned campaign reset, I'm now getting weird graphic anomalies. I check my video settings and nothing has changed, so I reinstalled the latest Nvidia driver, but no improvement. It seems the anomalies may be associated with light reflections. Here is what I'm experiencing:

there is a trick to jumping/resuming campaign position- however if you have started a new campaign it is very likely that the 'scores' kept by the campaign script will have been reset.

To go to the next mission go to ' ...Documents/1C SoftClub/il-2 sturmovik cliffs of dover-MOD/mission/campaign/campaign_gb and open a file called 'state.ini' using notepad (or similar). The second line should read "battleIndex " followed by a number (zero if campaign has reset to beggining). Change this to 14 and save. this should give you a campaign playing with mission " Hunting the Hunter" as your next mission. Basically this is a file that tells the campaign to go to mission number(+1)- ie 0 - first mission, 14 is the fifteenth mission

Scores is trickier as it is saved in a non text format so you can't edit it (and cheat!). This is kept in the "Score.txt" file

Slightly concerned as this isn't the first time something has gone wrong with your campaign- Good luck

edit- graphics anomalies try 'clearing cache'- also in docs/il2-MOD folder- delete all contents of the folder marked "cache."
This is very important if you have more than one copy of the game that are different versions (eg a TF3.01 install and a TF4.0 version) and are swapping between them- you must clear cache between swapping Modded versions- the same applies if running 2 versions of a standard install (eg vanilla and Malta-in which case the cache is in the NON '....-MOD' folder in docs.

bolox, once again you've come to my rescue. Resetting the campaign file to 14 puts me back where I left off. Much to my relief, clearing the cache took care of the graphic anomalies as well. I feared something more sinister, like intermittent hardware problems, may have been afoot. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to help me. I hope not to make a habit of taking advantage of your helpful nature, but it has been invaluable.

No problem.

As a part of the REDUX team I try to support any issues that come up (fortunately few).
There's always chance that someone else is having/will have a similar problem so posting an answer might also help others
