Hi guys,

Shall I set up the "Organisation" in Star Citizen this week, once the organisations module comes out?

I figure we call it something like "Cliffs of Dover Alliance" or something like that.

That way, all us chaps who play CloD can team up in SC, without having to start a new "clan" or drop our regular tags.....

Sounds good.. but one problem thoug.. As I understood it.. a player can only join ONE organisation.

From CIG
"Keep in in mind that while players can come and go as they please, they can join only one organization at a time."

That's a wee bit crap then. . . don't think I'll bother with "organisations" in that case

Have we decided whether we're pirates, miners, traders, explorers etc etc yet though? I mean there's people on the forum who already know how they're going to play the game, despite the fact it hasn't been written/finished yet! Bonkers!

No specific trade I don't think.
I suspect 92 sqn. is going to go down the cargo running route (armed to the teeth of course)
But the idea of this is to see if all us guys who fly Cliffs (often against each other) can maybe team up, losely, for mutual support.

with the ranking system there is no reason we cannot have the ranks as the squadron designation and fly under one banner
syndicate sounds best

ok, I gotcha. not a bad idea.

So ATAG guys' rank wouild be "ATAG".
92 Sqn. guys' rank = "92 Sqn."
Anon6 guys rank = "Anon6"
Non-squad affiliated guys rank could be something like "U-A" (unaffiliated)

etc.. etc...

Looks like I need to join a squadron :recon: don't fancy being called UA or unaffiliated, It would be the same feeling I get flying alone when my wingman's offline when there's 80 odd in the server :(

 A clarification from CIG about Multiple Organizations

"There has also been a great deal of feedback about Friday’s All About Organizations post. We would like to clear up one point of confusion: while you will only be able to join a single Organization with the first iteration of the system coming in January, this limit will be eliminated in future versions. Being a member of multiple organization is absolutely necessary for the finished game, and has been in the specifications from day one: players need to be able to join multiple NPC organizations (like the Mercenary’s Guild or Merchant’s Guild) in addition to player created groups."

"There will be a reputation system that tracks how organizations stack up against one another and individual orgs can specify their exclusivity level: the Mavericks might require that you join only allied groups, or they might prevent their members from signing on with anyone else at all. All of this is coming in future versions of the Org system; we aim to get you started with a single group now and then expand as the played-created portion of universe comes together!"

Just a heads up the organization system is up and running. 4,924 organizations registered in the first 12 hours!

Multi-organization membership is still being worked on.

Cheers

Bumping this.

I am getting invites from multiple organizations already.

I'm holding off for now ... why rush.

Glad to hear there is interest here too!

Hey this looks interesting, I used to love Wing commander, played all of them except for IV - Can people still get in on this? Like can I still buy a reasonable pledge and is it in alpha already?

thanks

Yes you can, if you wanna pledge and get alpha and beta access it's $40 USD. With this pledge you also get the Aurora ship and some credits and temporary insurance. Once game is live it is speculated to cost $60 and you get no ships except ingame. Currently it's pre alpha but there is a hanger module allowing you to walk around your ship. Here's the link:

Hmm..interesting! I think I'll jump on board. I can't decide between these two:

https://robertsspaceindustries.com/store/319-300i

Is there a spec comparison table available?

EDIT: found it. https://robertsspaceindustries.com/ship-specs

Disclaimer, the stats will change since this is a pre alpha game. Could be good for your choice or bad. I'd go with the Avenger over 300i.

Yeah that seems like a decent choice - given it has 10 tonnes cargo and seems to be built for speed. I think I'll go for that!

Also - sorry for hijacking your thread guys!

gone with the avenger! Haven't had install instructions yet i'm sure they'll be in in good time.

CLX seems interesting, I'm a bit worried about the whole commitment thing, I'm intending to be more of a casual player I suppose...:/

EDIT: had some spare time in the afternoon:)

Thanks for the interest, Raja will hopefully contact you soon and set up some type of meet and greet via TeamSpeak. If you wanna come fly CLOD with us, some of us should be on tonight on ATAG. Our temspeak info to follow:

neptunium.typefrag.com:6210
pw: joinCLX

Go to the IL-2 channel and we can just chat, see if we fit you, and you fit us and of course shoot down blue or reds all the while. As far as commitment I believe the commitment stands somewhere around 5-6 hours a week after the game is fully released. The reasoning behind this is we will be staking claim of an area and the UEE will attempt to take it back, if we never have members in the PU consistently we will quickly loose are real estate.

So now that we can do multi Org's, any official word on the ATAG Org or similar? I'm still interested!

which means that if your squadron has an organization then you only have to affiliate with the other squadrons....
a list of squadron organizations is prolly helpful

to the right of the page is a set as affiliate link button thingy :)

See strings' post above. We're proposing a Cliffs of Dover players cooperation, not an ATAG org. . . .

The idea is that the players who play cliffs will co-operate together in SC, not that we have to join the same org as each other - and not that we have to join ATAG.
