Game Crashes on Menu Screen - Vista

I know this has probably been covered many times but hoped at least you fellas might save me a whole bunch of trolling if I screamed help in this post...

Anyways a friend of mine who has been flying this sim for over a year has always had problems with game launcher crashes on the menu screens...and he has vista.....He has already tried many times to roll back drivers with no joy

He has a GTX 580....

Any ideas anyone have?

Do you know if he is using Vista 32bit or 64bit?

As long as I had Vista 32bit (and 4 GB RAM) installed I frequently had launcher crashes before I was even able to jump into a cockpit. With Vista 64bit (and 8 GB RAM) the sim is running very stable since the last official patch.

Just PM'd him.....He has 64bit

At the moment he avoids the Aircraft menu screen and just hits 'Create' so he only has access to the default aircraft...
