The title says it already - just great to see a day in CloD awakening or falling slowly asleep. :gourmet:

In both cases I would prefer starting/ending times in which there already/still is enough light.

Edit: My bad, title should be "where art thou".

If what you mean having light enough to actually see contacts I totally agree. I find it hard enough to find and track contacts already in COD, when the light is bad it's almost imposable. I think it may be worse on Aussie time with fewer targets. I can fly for half an hour without spotting any one some nights.

The dawn or dusk thing is a little like "whoosh!" above my head. Forgive me cos what more can you expect from a noob who doesn't fly with Trackir5 or use separate throttles set up and whose TS3 only receives but cannot send. But thing is, I just can't seem to find targets. Several times Ive blown the Merlin engine circling up and down the coast of Blighty looking for targets. Once or twice Ive run out of fuel and pancaked on a meadow. On another occasion I steamed over to France and it was Jerry what caught me. A pair of 109s sent me into the drink.

I've tried to follow chatter on TS3 but often its mostly banal ribaldry and nothing too helpful, not even when I type questions on the chat box. Last night there were 50 folks were online and with my one-way comms active I thought it would be easy to find action. I was disappointed. There was deathly silence over the ether instead. I took off from Gravesend and couldn't find a dickey in the air, no red, no blue. It rather got me worried. Where were 50 players for the love of Mike? Were they down at the mess or dispersal area wooing WAAF officers or what?

So, granted my comms challenges, I really would welcome tips on how to track and locate hotspots on the ATAG server battle map. Kindly bear in mind that with less than 30 ops under my belt, over 5 deaths and just 4 confirmed (Im sure, AI) kills, I am as yet a certified NOOB.

Hey Pirabee,

It takes a little while to get the hang of the maps. I am still getting used to some of the new ones I haven't played too much.

One tip is to head for a target. Usually the one closest to a base if it's the case will have more fighters. You will probably find someone heading there too needing escort or players defending it. About the chat, many people have chat and server messages together. Which means when you type something, it can quickly be overwritten by x killed y messaged and z left the server.

For some of the maps I can remeber out the top of my head.
Dynamo: action around Oye Plage and Calais. There is where most of the targets are.
Littlestone forward AF map: Lympne - Littlestone area
Homeplate: around the airfields being attacked, mostly
London Raids: use your radar for the bomber raids; or go for SE London where many targets are (Thames estuary too).
Dunkirk (usually Fall landscape): Around Calais, Calais marck AF and Oye Plage mostly
Kanalkampf: Around the ships SE of Isle of Wight mostly
Fall Rot: Haven't played much, but near Abbeville I would say or Dieppe is always something.

I think that's all the maps. Have I forgotten any that are still in the rotation?

To the original post:
I don't like the lightning at these dawn and dusk times. Makes seeing too hard. It looks mostly pretty, though.

I luv the dawn or sunset lights. Wish to see more.
SweetFX (with often a darker rendering) could be a problem for those who use it.

Im finding it difficult to see aircraft as well, the dynamo map i think it is, fly from ramsgate to dunkirk, if i see a plane and turn to it, chase it down, if it drops below to the ground it basicly disaperes, and loose it completly unless im close enough with a zoomed in view. with the low light, ground colours, colours of the aircraft, the darker view through the armour plate glass when looking through the gun sight, they just vanish. most of the time flying through the trees. its a great map with a good consentration of friend and foes in the area its just i cant see those pesky germans very well.

Dear J-Hat,

Thanks for the helpful reply. I'm noting down the tips and will try 'em all out. See ya up there, mate.

Pirabee.
