Is there a way to getting rid of.....

Now that I'm getting a hang of this game, there's a few things I wish I could get rid of.

1. All the messages on the top of the screen. Is there a way to disable it? It's really annoying and takes away a lot of valuable real estate to the screen. Besides, I don't really need the subtitles. I can understand English.
2. There's a bar on the lower left that designate the throttle. How do I get rid of that symbol?

Is there a way to do this?

Both these are separate 'windows' that you can manipulate to your desire.
I hate them too, tho I do use the server message window when testing missions/campaigns I'm making.
Choice is a good thing
