Thanks Mastiff, looks great. Accurate flak, who would have thought.:salute:

Yup, thanks Mastiff. Your video saved me the bother of actually doing it for myself. Any sign of trim control yet? Any sign of any instruments beyond Great War level being functional yet?

Edit: Does 100% throttle throughout the entire mission feel realistic to you? Sorry, had to put that one in after all..... :D

The second ground mission offer a airbase with enemy fighters and escorts. Great fun. Something just feel right flying the old girl. Fantastic fun to do

Great to see the series is getting back to its roots. Ground pounding in the IL2 sounds fun.

Do it in the 109 on COD all the time.:)

For someone with only 27 posts, you certainly know how to stir it.

I don't see the reason why you have to turn this into yet another BoS vs CloD thread. Dutch never mentioned any other sim, only his observations.

In fact, Dutch and I had quite an in depth conversation at Duxford last year about the whole "takeover" situation and he was very unbiased stating that he only wanted a quality realistic simulation. If Dutch was making a comparison then he would of mentioned the pop in smoke, the micro-stutters, the weird looking sunlight on the cockpit and gauges and the fact the cockpit textures look flat, but then someone would tell him that the game is only 38% complete. Well what can I say, my attitude is only 20% complete at this time of the morning, but still sharp as a knife.

I'd really like to see how you achieve 100% throttle all the time.

In my experience, at full throttle, 2400RPM in a climb out. the water temp increases about a degree every 20-30 seconds approx. until it reaches about 100 - 102 C, and then the rad pops and the water temp falls away.

I manage to blew my engine by reducing oil radiator , I started to vapor white steam. No it isn't very realistic yet but much of the IL 2 is. still kind of optimistic. This plane was impotent to me, and in my eyes it came thru

Come on now lighten up Slip, Dutch started that and both are just being facecious.
That said, you can fly a 109 at full ata as long as you manage two things, airspeed and prop pitch (rpm). Stay over 350kph and under 2400rpm and it will happily fly at full ata for as long as you maintain those two. Try it for yourself but climb at 350k or better and stay around 2200rpm.

Back to the original post. The Sturmovick is a hoot. It is utilitarian to say the least and it shows (and feels) damn near agrarian. Visability is crap too. I love it though, for it's intended role of ground attack (and 109 cannon fodder :)). Sounds are really well done in the sim thus far too. Have a listen when you land and roll out. You can hear the hollow fusilage sound as it bumps over runway imperfections. Brilliant!:salute:

Thanks for the vid Mastiff. You pilot's head must of froze though! Before it got shot off that is :)

Really sorry slip for rubbing you the wrong way, I was just referring to throttle not rpms, and i am not saying cod is wrong on that, its just that the atag guys will respect it lol. Btw I was just making an honest statement, stop seeing everything as a challenge, cod is one of my best cfs(tf of course).

The fact is if you read Pilots memorandum at Easternfront the unusual engine management during wintertime especially when Stalingrad was going on . Very cold and hard winter even in Russian perspective. Flying full throttle might not be the correct way to do it, but in these conditions you simply did not have overheating problems.
The problem Germans had was to heat them up before flight

No need to be sorry Tycoon, like I've said many times before I guess we are all very passionate about flight sims and sometimes wires get crossed.
There are always going to be faults as well. I think it's gonna be a long time before any computer system can pull off flight sim nirvana :D

Its not that I see everything as a challenge, but like I said before Dutch never made a comparison so there was nothing to compare. Either-way I'm glad your enjoying Team Fusion's efforts!

Well I tried it some more, it is a significant lighter ac without Turret, but still you aint getting more load out on her like you had in singleseat. It got stable flight controls but tend to be easy to dogfight with, except it bleed energy while doing it. It got more difference in weight after dropping ordinance than in other games , meaning it is more realistic in that way.
I find it easy to fly, witch is historical , It is heavy but easy.
I deem this to have even greater potential than CLOD have at the moment, I am afraid of the end product since my hope for this is even greater now than when I had not flown it.

Flight sim nirvana, perhaps dcs lol.
But seriously i really do appreciate the passion for correctness you guys have and looking forward to tf 5. But on the topic of the il 2 someone correct me if i am wrong but isnt it the
most produced plane ever?

Actually in CoD in the 109E-1/E-3/E-4 you can run at 2400rpm/1.30ata at sea level with 50% Rad/Oil and do that forever at 450+ kmh...

But the real 109E was tested at those settings by the Luftwaffe at their Rechlin facility, and it had no issues.

So we have done the same here. :D

Don't want to comment on the IL-2 or any aircraft from BoS, as I haven't done the research on those.

Nice external pics on the IL-2 though, looks pretty cool. :salute:
