So I have like 400 hours on this and come back to it every now and then, I think it really deserves more attention:

Gameplay is quite realistic, not quite an arma style simulator but just tactical enough to be fun and challenging at the same time.

I loved the first RO with its Darkest Hour mod and there were a few others too, but they didn't last as long as DH. RO2/RS are second to Cliff's of Dover in the amount of hours I've played. The Red Orchestra series is the best WWII FPS made!

good to see a fellow RO2/RS player!:thumbsup: I never got around to playing the first one unfortunately, I did hear only good things about it but by the time RO2 came out, the graphics of RO were a bit bland...

What i love about RO2 is how satisfying it feels to outsmart and get the enemy. It is not an easy game to learn to play correctly. Countless hours of dying and wondering where the hell did that come from! Too bad they never delivered on their promises on extra vehicles...:/ still a great game though

OMG, I've slaughtered more than 27,000 Soviet troops on the Kurgan and Druzhina fronts. Sickening, just sickening! AAAGH .... now I think of Greta und the children. :D

Kurgan is a great map, I never warmed up to bridges of druzhina that much. Pavlovs house and commisar house are my favourite maps!

Did you guys play the original RO? I thought the tank combat was way better in that and that the overall feel of the game was better. I really want to like RO2 though since it is the new thing. I should give it another try.

I've heard a lot of people expressing a similar opinion.... I never played RO original so can't compare. RO2 has it's own appeal though

I miss DH, tank battles and team work were awesome. i miss it. I tried RO2 but couldnt get into it.

Yesterday a new patch has been released for RO2/RS containing a few new maps, a new mode (search & destroy) and an APC for the Germans & Russians each.

that's great news! 2 ways to look at this i suppose:

1. It took them 2 years to add 2 apc's to the game.

2. Even two years down the line, the devs are still actively involved and adding vehicles and maps
