from the BOS forum

If I interpret Google translate correctly, they hooked up the BoS AI to a small RC model airplane and it flew quite well.

Yeah, it did great. We'll try to make a video with some RC model this spring.

Wow thats neat! Though I don't exactly understand how it would work... did they just let fly by itself?:stunned:

I guess I just don't understand the importance of putting the resources into doing this experiment...
One really has nothing to do with the other.
And RC planes can be flown in manners a real airplane could never withstand.

I think that basically this show that AI can be make a RC model fly stable, like one these:

Anyway, Zak say that maybe in spring he show a video of this experiment.

What import for a CFS is that AI fight well.

They did the same with the Rise of Flight AI and it is about as a terrible as they come. It crashes into hangars when it lands, collides with its wingmen during non-combat formation flying, and tries to turn fight in the Spad 13 when it has to fight a Fokker Dr.I triplane.

The best AI in existence today are IL2 1946, and they can be pretty stupid sometimes. Making the AI program fly is not the hard thing to do, well it is a lot of coding , but it can be done. Making them respond to a spesific situation is far more difficult. Because you will never make them capable to think.
I hope AI will be under constant development so unwished behavior get coded away
